Greg's P. O. V.
How did that even happen? I watched in shock as the racket landed on the ground with a loud clang.
Holly, Charlotte and my eyes met and we stared at each other, before Charlotte bent over, laughing.
Soon, I found myself shaking with laughter and we all were laughing hysterically as Charlotte went over to apologise to Holly for nearly hitting her.
"It's alright, but you gotta be careful next time!" Holly said, between short breaths. Just as she calmed down, she started laughing again. Just like that, another round of laughing while on the floor began.
We were rudely disturbed, however, when a swarm of fit-looking elderly people entered the court, holding rackets, some looking weirdly at us.
One of them walked over to me.
"You here, get you and your friends out of the court. We booked a session from two thirty to four thirty," he barked. Startled, I nodded and grabbed our stuff.
"Sorry for taking up the court, we didn't know there was another session," Holly apologised to the man. How can she be so gracious and composed even after laughing?
"Do you guys want to hang out a bit more, or do you want to go home?" Holly asked as we headed out.
"Um, I'm fine with anything. When's your curfew, Holly?" Charlotte asked.
"Five o'clock. Want to head over to this ice cream place down the road?"
"Sure! I have a ten dollar note with me," I replied.
"Wait you brought money?" Charlotte asked.
"In my shoe..." I trailed off, extremely embarrassed. Charlotte wrinkled her nose in disgust.
"Ew, why don't you put it in your phone cover of something?" Holly asked, disgusted, though I could tell she was trying not to laugh. Great.
"I'm not allowed to bring my phone if my mom isn't with me," I said, shrugging sad though I didn't really care, but in fact I did.
When no one spoke after that, the silence became very awkward as we walked to Spencer's Ice Cream. I was thinking about what I just said and how bad it could have ruined my chances with Holly. Shoot, looks like I've to work harder from now on.
"And you, sir?"
I looked up and saw the staff asking me which flavor of ice cream I wanted. I was so occupied thinking, I didn't even notice where I was! Hastily, I scanned the flavors available before saying, "One scoop of chocolate fudge."
We sat on a small table after paying, before Holly asked Charlotte to tell her about where she used to live, Singapore.
"Um, what do you want to tell me about?" Charlotte asked, unsure.
"How is it like living there?"
Charlotte hesitated before answering, "Hot and very humid, it's also quite clean and the traffic is definitely better than New York,"
Hearing the last part, both me and Holly laughed.
"What? I was being honest," she said, smiling so that she won't join in the laughter. We continued to talk about Charlotte's life and I found out more about her. Soon, it was four thirty and we all had to go home.
"I wish I could hang out with you guys more, but I really need to go," Holly said, looking a bit sad.
"It's alright, we can always meet up any other day," I replied, giving her a small smile.
"Thanks Greg, I had fun with you guys and we should hang out again." she replied. I did a double take inside. Did she say, hang out again?! Heck she doesn't find me annoying! My heart beat increased and the happy cells in my brains multiplied.
"See you tomorrow!" Holly called, as she stopped in front of her house. We waved back before heading upwards.
"How was it?" Charlotte asked me.
"How did you think it was, it was BRILLIANT!" I whisper-screamed, though not loudly in case Holly could hear.
"You really think I can't tell? You were smiling like an idiot the whole journey back home," Charlotte said, grinning evilly at me.
