Charlotte's P. O. V.
It's been almost an hour and the game's still going, with Holly closest to the retirement spot while Angelina and I were stchuck behind.
"Finally, payday! I'm rich now people," Angelina bragged, taking a handful of paper cash.
"Don't brag so fast, yet. Pass me ten thousand bucks please Charlotte, I just struck lottery," Holly said, taking her turn while smirking at Angelina. I giggled in amusement as I handed her the money.
Now it was my turn, I rolled the dice and moved my car six squares forwards. Great, nothing was written on the square; no extra privileges (A/N I haven't played this game in a long time so if I'm wrong in how the game works please comment 😁)
"Angelina, your turn," I said, tossing the dice towards her. She threw it and moved four squares forward. Taking a few pieces of cash out of her pile to pay the bills, passed to Holly who put it into the bank.
After a while of playing while talking about what happened in the past week, I was getting a bit hyper as my back was starting to ache. Placing down my paper money, I arched my back to give it a little stretch, wincing when I heard two loud cracks.
"Want to play something else? We've been playing for like, almost two hours," I suggested.
"YES! Finally someone is tired of it as well. Let's pack first and then find something else to do," Holly exclaimed, placing her car back into the box. Each of us quickly placed everything back into position before the box was stowed carefully into its original place.
As I looked around to see if there was something else we could do, a mischievous idea popped into my head.
Stealthily, while the two was talking to each other, I grabbed the fluffiest pillow I could find and banged it down onto Angelina's head.
"Ow! What was that?!" she yelled in anger. Holly burst into laughter and quickly caught on, grabbing another pillow and smacking Angelina with it.
"You know what, it's on!" Angelina yelled, hurling herself towards me. Thank goodness I was on a bed, otherwise who knows what will happen to me. I toppled backwards, struggling under her weight. Looking around, I snagged a blanket and threw it onto Angelina's face, who was trying to kick Holly. Somehow, a pillow fight escalated into a scuffle.
With a yelp, Angelina squiggled off me and I could get a pillow to join it. By then, Holly was on full party mode, taking pillow after pillow, letting them fly towards us.
I retaliated by throwing two pillows at one go, followed by blankets to distract them. Pillows flew over and past Holly's bed, accompanied by our yells of delight and amusement. This was partying at its finest.
That is, till we heard a knock on the door.
Halting our activities immediately, Holly crept towards the door. Had we disturbed Mrs Hills?
"Bruh, what are you doing?! Do you have any idea how noisy you guys are? Geez I come home in a bad mood and this is what I get," a tall girl with blonde hair, a branded jacket and is the bigger version of Holly yelled. Looks like we made someone upset…
"Heather, chill. Me and my friends were just having a sleepover and we were in the midst of a pillow fight. How would I know you were angry. Why is that anyways?" Holly replied calmly. At that moment, I admired her for keeping cool a lot.
"Well, Bryan cheated on me for Molly. Saw him going out with her when I was at the mall just now," Heather said, pouting, "Never mind that now, just leave me alone and keep the volume down,"
With that, she sashayed towards her room.
Just when we thought the drama was over, Mrs Hills came towards us.
"Heather's probably in a bad mood so you girls will have to be more quiet. It's getting a bit late now too, eleven o'clock. You girls still have supplementary class at ten tomorrow, be in bed by midnight, alright?" Mrs Hills said, smiling at us. We nodded and assured her that we will.
"Guess we gotta sleep now, I really dread math supplementary though, why ever did the school introduce such a scheme?" Angelina groaned, tossing her arms into the air, rolling her eyes and flopping onto the bed.
"Probably because the school got rich after the state funded us. It's kind of a good thing, though. At least we have better facilities," Holly said.
I shrugged. Being a week old Westmore student, I didn't really know what's happened before I came. Math is fine, but supplementary isn't so ok, especially when you aren't struggling with the subject and it's held on a weekend.
"We should just wash up first so that we'll have more relaxation time later," I said, winking. Holly and Angelina agreed and we headed to the toilet to brush our teeth.
---------------------------------------------------------
We were back in Holly's room, talking about our classmates while setting up sleeping bags on the floor.
"I can't believe Caden actually did that!" Angelina exclaimed as she unrolled her purple sleeping bag.
"I know, it was so inappropriate," I said, cringing when I thought about it. Caden was a boy, I mean, playboy in our class and he, during recess one day, asked me to go out with him in front of his girlfriend, Denise. The moment he did that, the whole cafeteria went silent...
"Hey Charlotte!" Caden hollered.
I looked up from talking to Holly and stood up. What did he want?
"Did you call me?" I asked.
"Yes, I've been wanting to ask you this for some time now," he said, ruffling his golden blonde hair and flashing his trademark smirk. A small wave of anxiety hit me. Oh my god it's not-
"Want to go on a date with me?" he said before I could even finish thinking. Denise gasped before standing up, tears already forming in her eyes.
"Caden what are you talking about? I'm your girlfriend and you're asking Charlotte to date you in front of me?" she yelled. Caden however, did not seem to be even bothered.
"I was gonna explain to you about that. You see, I was dared by Cody and Andrew to date you. Who knew you'd take it so seriously?" Caden said. I was so disgusted that when he asked me I couldn't get a single word out of my mouth.
"Uh, I-" was all I said.
"I'm taking that as a yes, so let's meet up on Tuesday afternoon, at the school gate." he replied. At that moment, if I wanted to save myself from embarrassment and not to give others the wrong impression when it's only the first week of school, I knew I had to reject it.
"No, I'm sorry. I don't accept your offer," I replied hastily but firmly. Caden, who was about to turn around to yell to the whole cafe that I wanted to date him, dropped his proud attitude and stammered, "W-why not?"
"I would like to remain single as of now, thank you," with that, I sat down and everyone laughed and clapped at my remark. Blushing slightly, I sat down.
End of flashback"Do you think he'll continue chasing you?" Angelina asked.
"It really depends, because when Belle and Zoe rejected him, he continued to chase Belle only. So if Charlotte's lucky, guess he'll stop then," Holly explained, shrugging as she shot me a sympathethic look. I sighed.
"Sorry guys, but I'm going to sleep now. Can't bear to talk about anyone else anymore," I apologised to my friends settling into the comfort of my makeshift bed.
"No worries, I was about to suggest to sleep too, plus there's three hours of class tomorrow," Holly said, "Good night guys."
With that, she switched off the lamp and everyone was silent.
