Charlotte's P. O. V.
"Ah, I was expecting you, Charlotte. Welcome to Westmore Middle School, I'm your form teacher Ms Jones. I teach math for this class as well. Now we have to give you a seat. Let's see..." Ms Jones said, scanning the class. Holly caught my eye and smiled.
"Ms Jones, can Charlotte sit next to me? I can be like a student buddy to her, if you don't mind," Holly asked, and I instantly felt relieved. Thankfully, Ms Jones agreed.
"Yes, you may. Thank you for taking the initiative to welcome our new student. Charlotte, you may sit here. Now, everyone, I expect you to be warm and polite to Charlotte. She will part of our class for some time," Ms Jones told the class, before continuing to brief the class about admin matters.
"Thanks for saving me a seat," I said as I sat next to her. Holy smiled.
"No problem, we're having English next, by the way. Just so you know everyone has to write cursive, but if you can't it's alright I'm sure Mr Heimes will understand. For some other classes you'll have to write in cursive but that's for grading purposes," Holly explained.
"Oh. I guess I can manage it, I used to write them for fun," I said. I took out my pencil case and then listened to Ms Jones briefing us. So apparently, all of us had to change into gym shorts given by the school during Phys Ed and we had to shower. Oh well, that's gonna take a lot of time. As I listened on, however, I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Hey, this is a note for you. It's from Travis, he sits behind me," a girl said. I nodded, taking over the note, slightly bewildered. Holly saw the piece of paper and leaned over.
"Oooo, are you attracting any boys?" Holly cooed. I gave her an amused look.
'If I could rearrange the alphabet, I would put I and U together.' was what the note said. I bit my tongue. This was such a recycled pick up line. Sighing, I crumpled the paper and put it aside.
Holly giggled, trying to drop me a hint. She didn't stop until I replied her.
"What's so funny? That was such a lame pick up line. And I'm sure you've got a lot of them, you're really pretty," I remarked.
"Thanks for that compliment. But I wasn't laughing at the pick up line, I was predicting the reaction of the popular girls of this class, when their boyfriends start to send you notes." Holly smirked.
I think this is going to be a long day.
