Amber crossed the line. She fucked me up almost as bad as Louis Faulkner did. But not nearly as bad as my mother. I kept walking down the road back home. I couldn't go to Amber's. I couldn't go to Peyton's. I didn't want to go to any of my friends' houses. So I had one option. Home. But I did need my things. So now I was on my way to Amber's to break in using the key I took off her key ring. I approached her house and slid the key out of my pocket. I walked up to the front door and put the key in the keyhole. Thank god I got the right key. I turned the key, opened the door, and slid the key out before walking in and shutting the door behind me. The house was dark. It was also very big. To my right were the stair cases and the dining room was to my left. Straight ahead was the living room and to the left of it was the kitchen. I started walking upstairs. It got darker as I got further up the stairs due to a lack of windows. I locked at a big clock against the wall and saw that it was five in the morning. Damn. I was exhausted but I didn't wanna sleep. I walked down the hall past Amber's parents room, the guest bathroom, Hayley's room, and finally to Amber's room. I pushed open the door and looked at my bags all in a neat pile in the corner. They were all at the hospital with Amber, so what would they come home for? Maybe in a few hours to get cleaned up, but I had time, so why not look around Amber's room? I walked over to her nightstand and opened the drawer. Just a bunch of pens, a hair brush, and other personal items. I closed the drawer and then looked around. Desk or closet? Both. I walked over to the desk and opened a drawer. More pens, pencils, paper, gum, and her glasses case. I shut the drawer and opened a smaller one. There were four small drawers. The one I had opened was full of folders. I flipped through them without taking them out of the drawer. Just school work. I opened another. Just makeup stuff. I shut it and opened another. The drawer had all of her jewelry neatly organized. Once again, nothing I should pay attention do. I shut it and opened the third. There was a stack of composition notebooks. Bingo. I pulled out the stack and gently set it on the desk beside her laptop. The black one on top had "2012" written on the lines in black sharpie. Was I interested in anything she wrote when she was twelve? Nope. I placed the notebook next to the pile. The next one was "2013." Pass. I placed it on top of the 2012 one. I really only wanted 2017. I placed the two back on the pile and moved them all over, except for the bottom one. A red one with "2017" written on it in a silver sharpie. I opened it up and skipped a few entries. Then I came upon one that caught my eye.

I "accidentally" snapchatted Jordan today. I've liked her for a while now, but not enough to want to write it down. She was always a bit of an outsider. She did have a nice group of friends, all of whom went to parties and important school events, unlike her. Her brother, Zac, is captain of the football and baseball teams. Best quarterback and second baseman. Jordan was in my algebra class and she sat directly behind me. She was pretty cute too. I always made sure to take the long way going from Italian to algebra so she would already be sitting when I got there. I admired how she ignored everyone talking about her behind her back. She had to have heard them because I would hear someone whispering about her in algebra and I would hear her take a deep sigh. People were saying how she went from being one of the fattest girl in the grade to one of the thinnest in about two years. She wasn't even that fat, but I do have to admit she was prettier thinner.
I had to pause for a second. She liked me thin. She didn't want me fat. Yet another person agrees I shouldn't eat.
Anyways, I admired how she was a hard worker. She always did her school work and paid attention in class. I wanted to start being her friend. So I "accidentally" sent her a snapchat meant for Jess. Jess is my number two best friend on snapchat and I had added Jordan back in freshman year through quick add and had never snapchatted. She was deep in my list of friends. She answered and I told her it was intended for Jess. We talked a little bit. It was nice. I just wanted to go out with her. I remember back in freshman and sophomore year she was on the soccer team. She was awesome. Then everything changed towards the end of the season sophomore year. She quit. She had an awesome game one day; she scored five goals. The next day she handed her uniform in to Coach Ritter. He was pissed. Then she was out of school for a week. Came back with stitches in the side of her head. She said she fell out of a tree and hit her head. Everyone believed it. I didn't.
