I walked into lunch wearing ripped black jeans, combat boots, a BVB shirt and a beanie. Cody missed the physics test. I sat down with Carson and Tess. Oliver and Shawn sit down.

"Someone likes me." I blurted out. Carson and Tess ooh. "Oh shut up."

"I can't believe Amber likes you!" Carson whispered. I shook my head.

"Not Amber." I said. "The new girl Elena. She kept blushing and smiling when I talked to her and she gave me her number."

"I ship it. Jolena." Tess smiled. I cringed. They laughed.

"Jolena." Carson got up and shoved herself next to me, pushing me to the edge of the bench. I saw Elena walking over with a lunch tray.

"Hey do you mind if I sit here? My cousin told me to make some friends that aren't hers." Elena asked.

"It's cool with me." I said.

"Yep." Tess smiles awkwardly. Elena sat down. She noticed my shirt. Tess and Carson stay quiet and kept eating their food. They started talking with Shawn and Oliver.

"Wow you already finished your lunch." Elena laughed a bit.

"Not really." I bit my lip. She raised an eyebrow. "I don't usually eat lunch." I said.

"Why? That's not good for you..." She said.

"I know. I eat at home." I lied. I saw Amber heading our way. She put a hand on Elena's shoulder.

"I see you have made friends. Good job, Ellie." She smiled. She glanced at my shirt and gave me a thumbs up before walking away.

"Ellie?" I raised an eyebrow.

"She knows I hate being called Ellie, but calls me it anyways." She said. I nodded. "So how are Hartwell's lax teams doing?" She asked.

"Great. Both varsity teams are undefeated still, as is the girl's JV team. The freshman teams and JV guys teams suck. Hartwell is doomed when those kids are on Varsity." Shawn explained.

"Hartwell got good? Since when?" Elena asked.

"We've always had great teams." Carson added.

"Well not when both varsity teams lost to Dayton." Elena grinned. Dayton and Hartwell have the worst rivalry in the county. Any student that doesn't go to any game against Dayton is shamed. I haven't been to a game in over a year.

"That was what, 2015? Oh yeah I had the concussion then." Shawn said.

"Three players on the girl's team were injured, two on the guys." Carson said.

"Either way Dayton would've won." Elena mocked.

"Doesn't matter. We've beat Dayton every year since." Shawn said.

"Your football team hasn't." Elena added.

"Okay well we're a lax school." Cody said.

"Do you play?" Elena asked.

"Soccer. Which has also been undefeated for four years." Cody grinned.

"Face it, whatever your last name is," Shawn began.

"Burr." Elena added.

"Face it, Burr, Dayton-"

"Sucks ass." I grinned. Shawn, Cody, Tess, and Carson snickered.

"Dayton is better than Hartwell, enough said." Elena said.

"Where did you get your information. Your school editorial?" Tess asked.

"I used to play lax. Quit at the end of the season last year after my third concussion. Parents made me quit. Too much brain damage apparently." Elena explained.

"Sucks." Oliver added.

"And my boyfriend. Best damn goalie in the state." She stated.

"Jay Saterno?" Shawn asked.

"Yep. Know 'em?" Elena asked.

"Used to be my best friend before he became a cunt." Shawn said.

"Sucks." Elena grinned.

"There's no way he's the best if Shawn has scored off of him hundreds of times." Carson said.

"Well he is." Elena said.

"Well Shawn is the best damn left attack wing in the state, so clearly Shawn is better than Jay." Carson grinned. She always has had a thing for Shawn since he hit puberty in eighth grade. Tess and I have tried to push them together, but around him, Carson just gets shy and awkward and shuts down.

"You're just gonna have to deal with Hartwell being the better school." I grinned.

I walked out of gym and headed to algebra, my favorite class. I sat in the back of class. Amber sat in front of me, which was why it was my favorite class. I enjoyed staring at the back of her head and looking at her every time she had to hand me handouts. I was taking notes on everything Ms. Ross was saying, which was nothing interesting. I had my notes on top of a page in my sketchbook and whenever I didn't have notes to write down, I would continue my sketch. Today I was working on a drawing of an eye with tears rolling down the page. Amber was scribbling something on a piece of paper, but I couldn't see what she was doing. She then tore the piece of paper out of her notebook and folded it before turning around and handing it to me. She turned back around before I opened it. Written on it is "I know who likes you. Wait under the bleachers after school Thursday to find out who likes you." My heart skipped a beat. There was no way it was Amber. She never talked to me or really looked at me. It couldn't be Elena either, she had a boyfriend. Fucking Jay Saterno. But I had no clue who it could be then. Maybe it was Elena. I'd have to wait to find out. I hated the thought of needing to wait.
