***A week later***

I looked down at the gravestone for Eyepatch.

"So, you've experienced this sort of thing before?" Eyepatch questioned joining Sam and I.

I smirked, "You get used to it."

"We've been data-mining Hydra's files," he explained, "Looks like a lot of rats didn't go down with the ship. I'm heading to Europe tonight, wanted to ask if you'd come."

"There's something I gotta do first," I told him, "but if you need the team you know where to find us."

"That I do," he said. He turned to Sam, "What about you, Wilson? I could use a man with your abilities."

Sam shook his head, "I'm more of a soldier than a spy."

"Alright then," he said. He gave Sam a hand shake then shook my hand, "Anybody asks for me, tell them they can find me right here." He nodded toward the gravestone then walked off.

"You should be honored," Clint said joining us, "that's about as close as he gets to saying thank you."

"Not going with him?" I asked.

"No."

"Not staying here?"

"I blew all our covers, I gotta go figure out some new ones. Tasha's gonna kill me for this."

"That might take a while."

"My death, or the covers?"

I smirked, "Both."

"You're such a great friend, Cap," he said handing me a file, "That thing you asked for, I called in a few favors for Kiev. Will you do me a favor? Call that nurse."

"He's not a nurse."

"And you're not a Shield agent."

"What was his name again?"

"Shawn. He's nice."

I smiled, "I'll think about it, but I got a date tonight so..."

"A date, with who?" Clint asked.

"Don't worry about it," I told him. I looked down at the file.

"Be careful, Kennedy," Clint said, "You might not want to pull on that thread."

I pulled on it anyway as Clint walked away. Inside the file was everything on Steve.

"You're going after him?" Sam asked.

"You don't have to come with me."

"I know. When do we start?"

"Let's give it a week or two," I said.

"You sure?"

"Yeah, my brother is going to want in on this. Also, like I told Clint, I have a date tonight. I promised someone that I was going to be home days ago. Got to make it up to him."

Sam nodded, "Understandable. Well, you have my number. Text me when we're ready to head out." He turned to walk away then stopped, "You do know how to text, right?"

I rolled my eyes, "Yes, I know how to text. I'll let you know."

He gave me a mock salute, "See ya around, Cap."

I waved as he got into his car. I slid the file into my coat then zipped up my coat. I slid onto my bike and kicked it to life. I sped off toward New York, the tower, and home. When I pulled into the garage I was greeted by Jarvis.
