***Two days later***

I sighed as I walked into the conference room with Natasha.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"What if this isn't the right thing to do?"

"Then we'll deal with the repercussions," she said.

I frowned, "I never said I was signing it."

"You never said you weren't," she pointed out.

"Excuse me," a woman said, "Miss Romanoff, Captain Rogers."

"Yes?" Natasha asked turning toward her.

"I just need your signatures," the woman said.

"Of course," I said taking the clipboard from her and signing where I needed to. Natasha did the same thing and then thanked the lady before she walked off.

"I suppose none of us are used to the spot light," a man said coming up to us. It was the Wakandan prince, T'Challa.

Natasha put on her flirty smile, "Yeah, well, it's not always so flattering."

"You seem to be doing alright, so far," he said with a smile, "considering your last trip to Capitol Hill. I wouldn't think that you would be particularly comfortable in this company."

"Well I'm not," she responded.

"That alone makes me glad that you are here, Miss Romanoff," T'Challa said.

"Why, you don't approve of all this?" Natasha asked.

He made a face, "The Accords, yes. The politics, not really. Two people in a room can get more done than a hundred."

"Unless you need to move a piano," T'Challa's father said joining us.

T'Challa greeted his father. His father then turned to us, "Miss Romanoff, Captain Rogers."

"King T'Chaka," I greeted, "please allow me to apologize for what happened in Nigeria."

"Thank you," he said, "Thank you for agreeing to all of this. I'm sad to hear that Sergeant Barnes would not be joining us today."

"So am I," Natasha cut in before I could say anything stupid. Like how I wasn't signing this shit.

"If everyone could please take their seats," a guy said, "The assembly is starting."

"That is the future calling," T'Challa said, "Such a pleasure. Thank you."

Natasha and I both smiled. She made her way to her seat and I went to stand at the back of the room. I kind of zoned out as T'Chaka started talking. I zoned back in as T'Challa yelled.

"Everybody get down," he yelled as he went to tackle his father. I hit the floor as the building exploded. What the hell? As the dust cleared I made my way to Natasha.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

"Yeah," she responded, "You?"

I nodded, "I'm fine."

Emergency crews came in and escorted people out. Once I was cleared I was sat on a bench. Natasha sat next to me. I glanced to my right to see T'Challa sitting on the other bench.

"I'm very sorry," I said.

He looked over at me, "In my culture death is not the end. It's more of a stepping off point. You reach out with both hands and Bast and Sekhmet, they lead you into the green veld where you can run forever."
