***The next day***
I was walking through the bunker looking for Steve. Howard wanted to show him some things and had asked me to go find him. I found him kissing some other woman.
"Captain!" I snapped, "Howard wants to see you. If you're not otherwise occupied." I turned on my heel and walked away.
"Kennedy!" he said catching up to me, "That's not what you thought it was."
"I don't think anything, Captain. Not one thing. You always wanted to be a soldier and now you are. Just like the rest. Whether you're married or not."
"Well, what about you and Stark?" he questioned, "How do I know you two haven't been kissing when I'm not around."
"You still don't know a damn thing about women!" I snarled. I shoved open the door and walked past Howard.
"What did you do to her?" he asked Steve.
Steve shrugged, "I have no idea."
I wheeled around, "Why don't you go ask that blonde out there?"
Howard's eyes widened, "You didn't? The day after the wedding too."
"Oh it gets better," I said, "He thinks you and I are kissing when he's not around."
"Wow," Howard drawled, "So back to business." He pointed at Steve's shield, "I hear you're uh... kinda attached?"
Steve nodded, "It's handier than you might think."
Howard nodded, "I took the liberty of coming up with some options." He pointed at one, "This one's fun. She's been fitted with electrical relays. It'll allow you to..."
Steve bent down and picked up a different one, "What about this one?"
"No! No!" Howard said, "That's just a prototype."
"What's it made of?"
"Vibranium," Howard told him, "It's stronger than steel and a third of the weight. It's completely vibration absorbent."
"How come it's not a standard issue?"
"That's the rarest metal on earth. What you're holding there? That's all we've got."
I moved back over to the two men, "You quite finished, Mr. Stark? I'm sure the Captain has some unfinished business?"
Steve held up his shield, "What do you think?"
I picked a gun up off the table and shot the whole mag at him. I popped the finished mag out and slid in a new one. I pointed gun at him again. Steve peeked over the top of his shield. The fear in his eyes was good enough to prove that he didn't mean what happened. Satisfied I said, "Yes. I think it works." I set the gun on the table and walked out. I had a grin on my face as I joined the Howling Commandos. They were all waiting around for Steve and I so we could leave.
"What did you do?" James asked.
"Shot Steve," I told him calmly.
"He annoying you already?" Dugan asked.
"Caught him kissing another woman," I stated.
Dugan sucked his breath in through his teeth, "Not good."
"Il est un homme mort," Dernier breathed. He's a dead man.
I snorted, "Nah, we can't kill Captain America."
"This is true," Dugan commented, "I mean look at him. He looks like a lost puppy."
I turned to see Steve walking toward us. I slid my hand toward my gun I had holstered at my side.
