Radar nervously tugged the collar of his shirt, waiting impatiently for Lukas to finish his goodbyes and to set off finally. It was already dark, the black sky was so clouded that there was no way to catch even a glimpse of stars. The cold winds were blowing from the north, making the guy shiver and snuggle deeper in his coat. Something was wrong about this night, something demonic seemed to stalk Radar from somewhere up above. He shuddered and hugged himself, glancing at the blonde man in hope.

Lukas was still talking to some other people, not at all bothered by the fact that the younger guy felt extremely uncomfortable in this place. The blondie wasn't in a hurry, bidding farewells for a very long time, and more and more people seemed to come to shake his hand.

- Lukas? - Radar whispered quietly, trying to smile politely, but it looked like he was about to cry. - Can we go now? Please?
- Yes, yes, we're already going. - Lukas smiled back, waving at other people. - Come on, Ray, you need to get used to it already. One day it'll be your responsibility, you know.
The black-headed boy whimpered and nodded weakly, turning away. So far he didn't think much about his new duties as a mayor of Beacon Town, because Lukas was always there to help him out. In this case, this help usually meant that the blondie did the majority of work, claiming that Radar was a bit too young and that he needed to "stay a child while he could stay a child".

The problem was that Radar didn't think he could be a child after everything that had happened.

He looked at the forest they had to cross, and once again wished they had left earlier. It was so dark now, he couldn't see an inch in front of his nose, and just one thought of riding through these woods, alone with Lukas, with wind howling around them... It really freaked him out, to be honest.

Although he had a feeling that it were not monsters he was afraid of. Lukas had a bow, he could defend the two of them if it was necessarry. No, what scared Radar out of his wits was something much more dangerous, and something much less real. Like an piece of ice wrapped around his heart, fear was beginning to slowly consume the guy.

He suddenly flinched and shook his head, he would not be afraid of darkness! Not after everything he's been through, not after the terrors he had faced - and fought against. Nature wouldn't scare him now! Not the dark night, not the unnaturally cold wind, not the forest with thick leaves and wet branches, with dangerous rivers and caves and canyons, with monsters and something else lurking around the corner, enjoying the horror of its prey...

Suddenly something touched Radar on the shoulder, making him yelp and harshly turn around, only for His eyes to meet with Lukas's. People, who were still standing nearby, let out a chuckle, to which the boy blushed madly. At least it was dark now, and nobody could see it.
- It's alright, it's just me. - The blondie patted the other guy's back and frowned when he felt his muscles tensing. - What are you scared of?
- Nothing! - Radar blurted out, his fingers playing around with the sleeves of his coat. - L-let's just go, okay?

Lukas rolled his saphire eyes, his hair glowing brighter than the sun. Although this light looked unnatural, as if it came from the world of the spirits. Radar shivered at this thought and gladly focused his eyes on a person that came to them, leading Lukas's horse.

The Earl Bay was a new town, and it was in desperate need of allies, so Lukas and Radar had decided to give them a visit and probably negotiate terms of trading with Beacon Town. The two cities weren't located so far from each other, but between them there was a deep dark forest, a piece of wild still unaffected by human beings. Radar never really wanted to come here in the first place, and now the mere thought of riding through that hell again simply send cold sweat down his neck.

It was just his imagination though. Nothing would surely hurt him, and in fifteen minutes he would go to sleep, forgetting the events of that day.

Lukas climbed onto his mare and helped Radar climb on behind him. The young guy immediatelly grasped onto blondie's shirt, looking around warily. His gut was telling him that they'd better stay in a hotel in Earl Bay, but his mind was demanding he stopped whining. And Radar always, always listened to his mind.
