Jesse's POV.
This was driving me crazy.
I was sitting in a cafe, reading a newspaper. Or at least pretending to. Because my mind couldn't simply focus on the words and letters when Lukas was somewhere nearby.
I had to admit it. I had completely and fully fallen for him. His wonderful hair, his amazing eyes, his warm smile and kind words he always used to speak to me. This guy was all I could think about the last few days, even though it felt like st least a year. The time just... Slowed down, I suppose. Making it even more agonising for me, especially since Lukas didn't seem to notice me at all.
Well, that's one thing I was attempting to fix. Because if there something that mad me different from all the other girls it was that I had no trouble flirting with the guy first. No, others can be shy and quiet and lose all their shots! Me? I decided to take the matter into my own hands.
I peeked over the top of the newspaper to glance at the guy. There he was. Sitting by the window, scribbling something down in his notebook, his mug of coffee standing untouched by his left arm. Every once in a while Lukas would look up and gaze in front of himself, mouthing some words soundlessly, before going back to writing.
I was always intrigued by what he was writing about. However, unlike me, he was a really shy guy. Never interrupted a person, never got in others' personal space, never allowed anybody to read his private stuff. And it wasn't even a diary! Why write something else if you don't want anybody to read it in the first place?
Lukas was so caught up in his writing that for about ten minutes he completely ignored my attempts to get his attention. I put the newspaper down, changed my position a couple of times, took a sip of my tea, even stretched. Come on, you dummy! I'm not that far from you, notice me! Just mumble something, I'll take it from there.
Nope. Nothing. For a second his gaze fell on me - I smiled instantly - but the next moment it returned to his piece of paper. Frustration was beginning to build up inside my bones. What's the matter with the man?!
Okay then, plan B. Time to get more obvious. I glanced at the floor - one of Lukas's feet was not in front of his chair but sticking out in walking space a bit. Good.
With my heart thumping against my ribcage, I stood up and picked up my backpack. The guy didn't even move, apart from sneezing once and taking a sip of the coffee. I almost wanted to coo. His sneeze was so cute, like he was a tiny little kitten! Well, I didn't really have time to pay attention, it was the time to shine.
Acting casually, I walked past Lukas, intentionally stopping myself from raising my feet far from the tiled floor. And, of course, there it was. My right feet crashed into his and I was sent flying towards the floor. Now, since I had been expecting it, there was plenty of time for me to push my arms in front of my body to soften the fall.
"Ow." Escaped my mouth, cold tiles leaving actual bruises on my elbows. Lukas instantly shot up and pushed his chair away, mumbling countless apologises. Cutie.
"Sorry for that." He murmured, giving me a hand to help me up. I chuckled to myself and took it, pushing myself onto my feet again. Some people glanced at me and went back to their business, but I was the least interested in them. At least my plan worked, the blondie had all his attention on me.
"Next time keep your feet to yourself." I joked, sliding down on the couch opposite from him. The guy stared at me in confusion, before swiftly closing his notebook - I didn't even catch a word! - and putting it away, looking uneasy. What was wrong, though? We knew each other, after all, we were neighbours! It wasn't like talking to me would suddenly ruin his perfect body ot take away his power of speech.
