Jesse sighed, laying his head on his arms and ready to fall asleep right on the table. His clothes were covered with dust, and his green eyes had these bloody red lines in them, a sign of a sleepless night and an early wake up. The sun had barely risen over the horizon, casting long shadows on the ground and warming up the cool night air.

A loud yawn escaped Jesse's mouth, although he did try to cover it with his hand. A mug with steaming coffee stood in front of him, the mere scent already pushing the guy awake. However, his eyelids were much too heavy to lift, and his mouth didn't wish to open to let the hot liquid inside. Gosh, if only he could just fall asleep again!

- I still don't get it. - Petra scoffed, rubbing her eyes as well. She was sitting on the counter in her minty blue pajamas, dark circles evident under her eyes. - Why on Earth did you have to come so early? You've told you would have come by the lunchtime!
The guy raised his head and forcefully took a sip from his mug. His short brown hair were a mess, and he actually looked like somebody who was about to hibernate. If only he could!

- Yeah, really! - Radar nodded eagerly, searching in the carboard for some chocolate. - It's not like I'm complaining or something, b-but...
- Well, I'm complaining! - The redhead shot a tired glare at her friend, who was just trying not to give in to the charms of his cozy arms, which had proved to be a great pillow. - You storm in in the middle of the night...

- It was four in the morning. - Jesse murmured, taking another sip and finally looking up at the sleepy warrior. - Not that early.
- Whatever! - Petra exclaimed, accidentally banging her head against the corner of the wall. - Ouch!
Radar stood up and handed his boss a chocolate bar, Jesse's favorite. However, Jesse just shook his head, his stomach still not awake enough to digest solid food. All his thoughts wandered to his bed in his room above, to his soft pillow and comfortable blanket.

Petra growled and snapped her fingers in front of the half-asleep guy, jolting him away. He glared at her, and angrily took another sip of the energising drink. Couldn't it work, like, a little bit faster?
- So, do you wanna explain why we had to wake up that early? - The woman frowned. If anything, the pain in her head only made her angrier, and Jesse knew that this was not a good sign. Especially considering the fact that it had truly been his and Lukas's fault all of this was happenning in the first place.

- We had to move out earlier than planned. - He sighed, stirring the coffee in a dreamy state. - Couldn't... Couldn't stay there for much longer.
For a split moment his eyes sparkled with fury, before returning back.
- But why? - Radar, who was the most active one in the trio, nibbled on the corner of the chocolate. - Have something gone wrong?

Jesse nodded, frowning and tightening his grip on the mug. Just these memories brought him enough fury as it was, just one thought of what could have happened if they had stayed there a bit longer. Welp, at least anger did a good job of fighting with fatique, better than coffee.

- We got lost. - He begrudgingly explained, looking outside through the window. - Missed our turn or turned too early, don't know. But when the night fell, there was just one place for Lukas and me to stay in, and...
He took a deep breath in.
- And, of course, it just so had to belong to Aiden!

Everyone was silent for a minute or two, simply processing the information they had received. So, Jesse and Lukas went to Dandelion City because of some diplomatic issues, had to travel back by horses through the most dangerous forest there was, and not only that, but they had to stay with Aiden? The same Aiden who had tried to murder them?

- Wait-wait-wait. - Petra shook her head and winced as a weak ache throbbed under her hear. - You mean that Aiden? From Sky City?
Jesse scoffed, glaring at her. Exhaustion from the long night was still there, but curled in a ball in the very corner of his consciousness. More important things have replaced it.
