Your POV.

We bent closer to the ground, breathing fastly and shaking just a little bit because of the adrenaline pulsing through our veins. Lukas and Petra by my sides, I would've thought they were still escorting me like all those... What were they? Months? Weeks ago?

I shook my head just a little as I pushed those thoughts aside. Those times had passed, and they trusted me now. I was their ally, their friend now, not some weird girl they had found on the field. And I was now going to fight for them, fight by their side, even if I had to die.

"He was supposed to return already." Radar, the one who had shown me the most kindness, whispered from somewhere in the bushes. I just glanced in the direction his voice came from and had to squint to notice his old, dirty clothes between the twigs and the green leaves. If I hadn't known he was there, I never would've noticed him.

"I knew it was a bad idea to let him go there!" Petra hissed and I more felt than saw her hand wrap around the handle of her sheathed sword. Her hazel eyes narrowed as she stared at the building in front of us, patiently waiting for Jesse to come out of there.

I gulped and my hand found the handle of my own sword which I had finally been allowed to have. The impatience between the four of us was growing steadily, where the heck was Jesse?! He was supposed to return already! Cold sweat soaked my clothes as countless thoughts rushed through my head. What if our plan went wrong? What if he was captured by Romeo's guard golems?

Lukas sighed and shifted, and all our gazes snapped towards his dirty blond head. His blue eyes shone like two diamonds, true worry evident in them. We were all worried like hell, even - especially - me. If something went wrong... If Jesse didn't come back this minute... Gosh, I was scared to think of what would happen to me! I already started to notice those suspicious glances Petra was giving me every now and again, and fear shot through me. This wasn't right, it wasn't supposed to-

"Guys!"

We all suddenly turned around, the redhead unsheathing her faithful sword in one graceful movement. My eyes widened, it was Jesse! His old, torn clothes were covered in mud and dirt, but his eyes shone brightly, like two emeralds.

Petra raised her eyebrows, hesitating for a split moment too much, and then placed the tip of her sword under Jesse's chin. He didn't flinch back, didn't even blink when the blade pressed against his skin.

"Who are you?" The girl hissed at him, although now I could see that she looked less scared. The lack of the reaction from our leader clearly meant that it was him, not Romeo shapeshifting to look like him. The guy stared in the eyes of the redhead, speaking in a hushed whisper: "Hero in Residence."

A sigh of relief escaped all of us, and Petra lowered her sword. Jesse smiled at us, for the last time making sure he hadn't been followed, before moving closer to us. I winced, our every movement was painfully noticable from the outside.

"Y/N was right." He looked at me in approval, and I smiled back. "The Terminal is right there, I saw Romeo fiddle with it. The problem is, we will need to distract him."

"Have you been noticed?" Radar asked from inside his bush, his dark eyes shining worriedly. I only chuckled as silently as it was possible, of course Jesse hadn't been noticed!

"If I was, I wouldn't have been here, would I?" Our leader asked ever so silently, afraid to attract any unwanted attention. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. It was okay. They trusted me now. They trusted I wasn't Romeo's spy or Romeo himself.
