Heyo! This oneshot was requested by Lukesse Queen, MountainGirlXVHere you go!
Oh, Christmas! The time for the land to relax and rest and for the people to celebrate another year they lived through together and in harmony. Jesse smiled, her head lying on a windowsill, using her arms as a cozy pillow.
It was already dark, and billions of stars could be seen on the black sky. The night was peaceful, and the land was covered by a thick blanket of white, fluffy snow. Christmas songs and carols could be heard from almost every house, and those voices carried so much joy and happiness in them that it was literally impossible for a human being to not feel the wonder of this magneficent holiday.
The door to the room slammed open and Jesse slowly turned around. There was no need to rush and hurry, no need to yell and cry and argue. It was, without a doubt, the calmest time of the year.
"We've got a problem."
Olivia's voice was empty of all that Christmas peace and serenity that her friend cherished so much. The young engineer looked even more worried now, if anything, as if all that snow couldn't bring her mind and soul to rest. Jesse rolled her eyes, standing up lazily. Sometimes she thought that even in the safest of places Olivia would find something to be anxious about.
"Look, if Axel ate all the cookies again, I'm sure we can find something we can replace them with." She murmured silently, hoping she got it right and that would calm her friend down, even just for a bit. Yet she knew that this wouldn't work.
The girl with pigtails shook her head and huffed silently, sitting down on a chair, her dark eyes throwing daggers at the wall. Jesse even looked at that same wall - nothing apart from an old spot on one of the wooden planks. Whatever it was that pissed Olivia off must've been pretty much serious.
"Hey, what happened?" The black-headed girl tried again, this time speaking with a more soothing voice. She truly hoped that whatever it was could be sorted out before an actual holiday.
"It's the Ocelots." The engineer finally spoke through gritted teeth, and there was so much hatred in her voice that Jesse even stepped back. Wow. The last time Olivia despised something to this point they had to move house and even live under fake names until everyone calmed down. She hoped that nothing as horrible as that would happen again, especially before Christmas.
"Ocelots?" The girl with emerald green eyes winced and sighed silently. "Not again! It's Christmas, they literally cannot do anything against us now!"
Yeah, that was the thing between two teams. However they hated and despised and loathed one another, no person from either of the teams could do any harm to anybody from the other team around Christmas. It was an old, old tradition, and both of the teams respected it a lot. So the fact that a member of the Ocelots could disrespect their unspoken treaty like that was almost outrageous.
"I've seen a guy in an Ocelot coat throw balloons filled with ink at out windows." Olivia complained, and Jesse foolishly noticed black pain dripping on the floor from the hands of her friend. "I think it was their new one, the blondie."
The blondie? The black-headed girl remembered the new member of the Ocelots, that cute blond guy with beautiful blue eyes that shone in the sinlight like two diamonds. But that was weird. Lukas, or whatever his name was, hadn't been that bad the last time she spoke to him. Of course, that time they spent trying to drown each other in snow, but that doesn't count, does it?
Jesse was actually surprised it wasn't the leader of the Ocelots who threw such a tantrum, that arrogant man by the name of Aiden. However, even though he was pretty much a tool, he would never disrespect their old tradition like that. He still had some honor.
The girl sighed and stood up. Olivia wouldn't be able to confront Lukas without breaking down in tears, she was extremely emotional. And Axel... Well, you better not touch him around Christmas unless you have some sweets with you. So Jesse would just have to go and deal with this ink trouble herself. No big deal!
Sending her friend to wash her hands, Jesse made her way to the front of their tree house. Her other friend was snorting silently on a bed, wrapping a huge blanket around him. She rolled her eyes and looked around, instantly noticing black spots on windows from where the ink spilled.
SPLASH.
Jesse gasped and flinched back as another ugly black spot formed on a window right in front of her. Anger began to bubble up when Axel did literally nothing to wake up. Didn't that blondie know how much time it would take to wash all that ink down?!
"Hey!" The girl yelled, swiftly putting on her cyan blue coat and opening the trapdoor. Cold wind instantly chilled her to the bone and she swiftly climbed down, caringly closing the hole in the floor. Then, not bothering to be a target and simply jumping down in the snow, she got to see her enemy face to face once again.
The blondie sneered at her, another balloon leaking with black ink in his gloved hand. It was obvious this one was meant for her back, and Jesse shivered silently, thanking herself for being fast enough. She did not want to wash her coat!
"Aww, why in such a hurry?" He mocked her, tilting his head so that some of his blonde hair stuck from under his green knitted hat a bit. "I couldn't even aim properly!"
"What on Earth do you think you're doing?" Jesse hissed, completely infuriated by his innocent behavior. "It's Christmas! We don't mess around with each other on Christmas!"
But Lukas simply shrugged, throwing the balloon up and catching it again. He allowed Jesse to walk to him, sinking in the snow, before throwing his weapon at her house again. A horrible splash informed the girl that he was a terribly awesome shot.
