«Shannon»

My eyes open quickly and I sit up straight. The loud thunder woke me and now I feel like I won't ever fall asleep again.

My breathing is uneven and I can hear my panting.

A hand touches the open skin on my shoulder and I gasp. I'm wearing a tank with shorts. Smart choice of clothing right? Not realy but I couldn't find warmer clothes.

"What's wrong?" I hear a husky voice and I shiver.

"The thunder... It woke me and the cold weather isn't helping." I say and rub my arms with my hands to warm up.

Ever since I was little I've had a fear of thunder and lightning. I just never got over it. Many times if the rain and storms comes I would sleep with Livia and she would accompany me. Not hold me but just be close.

When we talked earlier before me and Cody went to sleep I told him that fear. In return he told me his fear of small spaces. That is one of the reasons he decided to share with me, a bigger tent.

"Come here." Cody says and I feel him wrap his arms around my shaking figure and pull me down whith him untill we are both laying back down. His warmth is already spreading and helping.

I was uncomfortable for a few seconds but then I started to enjoy his embrace. His hands around my waist keeping me close to his warm body. His slow breathing like a soothing song, calming me. His hot breath on top of my head which is resting on his naked chest. I relaxed.

I placed my arms on his chest and he pulled me even closer. He turned so he would be laying on his side and I snuggled into his chest. My head resting on his arm which was placed as a pillow under my head.

I fell asleep again and had the best slumber possible during a rain storm.

My eyes flutter open and I look in front of me. All I saw was someones chest. My eyes traveled up and I saw Cody sleeping peacefully.

I studied his features for a few moments until he shifted in his sleep and pulled me even closer to his body. Our legs were tangled together, his arms around my waist. My hands on his chest and my head resting against his chest.

"Morning Shannon." he mumbled and I smiled and rest my head on his arm. His eyes still shut as if he is still in his slumber.

"Morning" I reply softly.

"Did you sleep better?" he ask. His eyes still closed.

"Yeah. Thank you." I say and he smirks.

"No problem." he says.

"We should probably get up." I say and he shakes his head.

"And why not?" I ask and I notice his frown.

"Because this is comfortable." he smiles and lay on his back while pulling my body upper so that I wrap my arms around his neck. I sigh and he wraps his arms once again tightly around my waist holding me impossibly close to him. I rest my head in the crook of his neck and exhale causing him to shiver and goosebumps appear on his skin.

I'm not going to lie. I like this. No I love this feeling. This is one of the things that makes me wish I had a boyfriend.

"Morning sleepy heads! Wake up!" I hear Max scream and I groan.

I hear the zipper from out door move and I quickly roll off Cody missing his warmth.

"Heya. You guys sleep well?" he asks and wiggle his eyebrows.

"Yeah, thank you." I say and see Livia appear behind him.

"Hey. I'm gonna go. See you tomorrow." She says and leaves.

"Bye." I murmer to myself and I know she isn't here to hear me anymore.

The rest of the day I played Playstation with the guys. Me and Cody grew close.

Everytime he would see Sheldon look at me I would see him smirk and stare at me knowingly. Both him and Max did that the whole day through.

That night I slept in my bed. The storms were gone and it was a silent night.

The next morning (Monday) I went to my locker and saw Livia there as usual. She looked pissed.

Me and Alex split up and I looked at her. She glared at me.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Are you going to sit with me or the populars at lunch Shannon?" She asks and I frown.

"Uhm... I'm going to sit with Alex. He is family after all and you said you were fine with it." I say and she looks even more pissed.

"Well I'm not okay with it! I felt rejected yesterday when you didn't even asked to walk me home or at least walk me to the front door. You just layed there. You never spend time with me at school anymore. It's always Alex!" She exclaims and I exhale while opening my locker and getting out some books.

"What do you want me to do!?! You said you were fine with it. I do spend time with you. What did I do this whole weekend huh? I went to your cousins party with you!" I snap.

"Well guess what... I'm over this. You can go and run to Alex because you are no longer considered my friend anymore." she says and I feel a pain in my chest.

"Fine. Go run to Dave!" I say and slam my locker. I walk to my class not bothering to wait for Alex. I storm into the class and sit down. This is going to be a long day.

"Are you okay Sil?" Alex asks and I looks at him. We are sitting at the centre table and I'm almost the only one who hasn't said a word the for the whole break.

"Yeah. I don't want to talk about it." I say and he nods.

Cody stands up and grabs my wrist without saying a single word. He leads me out of the school building and he plops down onto the grass where we practise.

"What's wrong?" he asks and I sigh.

"Me and Livia got into a fight. She doesn't want to sit with me and Alex at the centre table and she just can't except the fact that things change. She is angry because I don't spend time with her but I literaly spent the whole weekend with her." I say and he nods.

"Maybe you should just ignore her. She will feel better with time. She'll get over it. And if she really is worth your time she'll come back and realise she made a mistake to walk away from your relationship." he says and I smile at him.

"Thank you Cody." I say gratefully.

"Anytime." he says and gets uo. He helps me up and we walk back to the school building.
