«Cody»
After I dropped off Shannon I went home and parked my car in the garage.
When I entered the house my mother was sitting on the couch in the foyer. She perked up when she saw me walk in.
"Cody. Your father is waiting for you in his office." She says and I sigh.
"Thanks mom." I say and jog up to my room first and shrug off my jacket and drop my keys on the desk. After that I walked to my fathers office on the third floor.
I knocked on the door and entered when he said 'come in'
"You wanted to speak to me father?" I ask. He is one of those dads that wants to be treated professional while working or not.
"Yes Cody. I have something we need to talk about." He says and looks at me while I sit down on the chair at his desk.
"Go ahead then." I say and he clears his throat.
"Have you applied to the Law school I chose for you?" He asks and I sigh in frustration.
"I have filled the papers but didn't give it in yet father." I say and he frowns.
"Why not?" He asks and I purse my lips to keep me from screaming at him.
"Because father, I am still considering other options." I say.
"I have said to you multiple times Cody, you will go to that university no matter what." He says in a louder tone than before.
"Why can't you understand?" I speak the same tone as he.
"What is there to understand?!" He asks and I stand up.
"I do not want to become a lawyer!" I scream out in frustration.
"You don't have a damn choice!" He shouts back. I run a hand through my hair and close my eyes to calm down.
"No... I'm not your perfect little child that will obey your every command and follow all your demands! I'm a human being with my own hopes and dreams!" I yell out and he stands up and slam his hands onto his desk.
"You, will do what I tell you to do, Cody. You are living under my roof and you are my child." He says in a deathly calm tone.
"Whatever." I say and walk out and slam the door and walk to my room and do the same just to let him know how angry I really am.
I have been thinking a lot about what Shannon said about traveling and I really want to do that.
It sounds great and a break from learning before university sounds like the thing I need. I mean I've been putting in the best of me since kindergarten, always doing my best. I deserve a break.
The guys are going out tomorrow and they asked if I would join them but I think I'll pass. He just messed me up for a few days and I don't want to lash out on my friends.
I took a shower and then hopped in bed.
The rest of the weekend was spent watching Netflix in my room alone without company, I powered my phone off and had a anti social weekend and it made my thoughts run wild.
I still haven't decided what to do but it isn't a small decision so I'll figure it out with some time.
Today is Monday and that means school, so I got up, got dressed and headed out. I still felt andry and didn't want people nagging on me today or I'll punch them in the face.
I parked my car in my parking spot and walked to my locker. The boys was standing at it and I sighed and walked towards it. Everyone was here except Alex, he is probably with Shannon.
"Hey people." I greet and open my locker.
All of them murmured a greeting and I sorted through my books and files.
"What's up with you?" Max asks and I shake my head.
"My father again." I say and he nods in understanding. He has been my best friend for a while and knows about my situation.
"Guys, just leave him alone for today." Max says and I hear the people walk away and I silently thank him. It's silent for a minute but then I hear her voice.
"Hey Cody." She says and sounds happy.
"Hey." I say and from the side I can see her smile turn into a frown.
"What's wrong?" She asks and I shake my head.
"Nothing." I say.
"Come on, cheer up." She says and gives me a playfull punch on the arm and I look at the place she 'hit' me and then into her eyes which looks full of joy and confusion.
"Don't." I say and slam my locker close. I begin walking away from her and I'm surprised that she doesn't follow me. I kind of feel a little guilty but I don't care right now. All that is roaming in my mind is my father and his selfish ways.
The day dragged on and I haven't seen Shannon since this morning. I saw Alex though but he didn't speak much. Shannon wasn't at lunch and I'm waiting to see as if she is going to make an appearance at practise.
While waiting I'm standing and playing with the ball in my hand. I see her walking here and I feel relieved that she isn't angry at me.
"Okay team lets do the usual and I wanted to congratulate you all for the game this weekend. It was great." I say loudly and they all let out a cheer and have smiles on their face, everyone except Shannon.
We do the usual training and when we are done I walk to my car and see Shannon. Her car is next to mine and she is busy opening the back door to put in her sports bag.
"Bye Miss spy." I say but I don't get as much as a glance while she gets into her car and speeds away leaving me shocked.
