We didn't practise after he asked me and both of us decided to go to the diner for something to eat. All the others were also very happy to skip the practise session.
"What would you both like?" The waiter asks.
"I'll take a bubblegum milkshake and a burger with fries please." I say and smile at him as he nods and write it down.
"I'll have a chocolate milkshake and the special you have." Cody says and the waiter walks away.
"So... Is your day better than it started out to be?" Cody asks and I smile.
"Yes. It is, I loved the slideshow you made. And the way you smiled while I turned around was the best!" I laugh and he chuckles.
"I do have a perfect smile, don't I?" he asks teasingly and I laugh.
"But I'm also mad at you." I say with a playfull glare.
"Why, what on earth did I do?" he asks. The playfulness clear in his voice.
"You asked me, two days before the prom, I repeat, two days. Now I have to rush my dress shopping and my hair and my nails, my shoes... My makeup!" I list the things on the tips on my fingers and he chuckles and get out his wallet.
He digs around until he finds a small paper and he hands it to me. I take it and frown.
"What is this?" I ask.
"The magic of having such a good guy, like me, on your side." he smirks and folds his hands behind his head and relax back into the couch of the booth.
I scan over the paper and read the writing.
