"Lets go for a walk?" Cody suggests and I nod while standing up from the chair of our table we were all sitting at.
The hall is still packed with people dancing, drinking punch, eating snacks at the snack table but about 10 people went home. Some of our friends also went home.
Cody took my hand in his and led me to the outside, a slight wind blew and I shivered. It was delightfull to feel the breeze on my skin after we came out of the hot and crowded building.
"Are you cold?" Cody asks and I shake my head.
"Nope, not at all." I smile and he smiles back as we keep walking on the cemented path of the school garden.
"Did I pass?" Cody asks and my brows furrows.
"Pass?" I ask and he chuckles.
"Pass the expectations... Made all the dreams from grade 2 and up, came true?" he says and looks at me expectantly.
"Oh," I laugh, "Yess, you did... I didn't really have that high hopes for prom to be honest, I just hoped to have fun." I say truthfully and his smile brightens.
"So, did you have fun so far?" he questions and I laugh and nod my head as an answer.
"Yess Cody... I did and I still am having fun." I say to him and he leans towards me and give me a sweet kiss.
We continue walking and having a conversation while doing so and I don't pay attention to where we are going until Cody comes to an abrupt stop in the parking lot of the fields.
"Do you want to go back and keep on dancing or would you rather see what I have planned?" he asks and I sigh.
"Isn't it obvious Cody, I want to see what you have planned." I say and he chuckles.
"Right..." he says and leads me through the entrance of the field and I can't help but smile at him.
"You are amazing, you know that?" I ask him and he smiles.
"And why is that Miss Spy?" he asks and I fake a thinking face.
"Oh I don't know. What other guy would manage to get a bed on the football field on prom night?" I ask looking at the setup.
There is a bed with some fluffy blankets and some pillows on top.
"Is that all?" he asks with a smirk and I roll my eyes and pull him to the bed.
I see a laptop on the made up blankets and smile knowingly at him while I pull the blanket lower so I can get in. It wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought it would be with the dress and I got comfy pretty quickly until Cody go in and pulled me into his body.
I glare up at him but he is focusing on the laptop screen.
I rest my head on his shoulder and push myself closer to his body as I can because otherwise he would pull me closer later.
"What are we watching?" I ask and I see a smile form on his face as the movie begins and he lays down and pull me even closer if that is possible.
"Just watch." he says and we watch the movie. I reconised it when it started and I loved Cody for picking out my favourite romance. We watched Midnight Sun and Cody kissed away my tears when I began to cry.
The rest of the night went by without anything important happening. We went back and danced, mingled with friends, took photo's and such things and eventually we went to my apartment.
I walked out of my bathroom after I dressed into my pj's and then I flopped down onto my bed, laying on my stomach.
I didn't hear Cody enter the room but it became clear when he landed on top of my body. I groaned and he laughed.
"Wow, I should have stopped you from eating all those snacks at the table earlier." I weeze out from under his weight.
"I am offended." he says dramatically and roll off of me so that he is laying on his back next to me.
I make my hands into fists and place them under my chin to hold up my head.
"You know, our school years is pratically over now." I say quietly.
It is silent for a few seconds until he speaks again.
"Let's not talk about sad things like that tonight, it will ruin the great day we had and I really don't want the day to end up on an sad note." he says and turns onto his side. His face is a few inches from mine and I can see the sadness in his eyes.
I give him a smile and he gives one back, he leans in and gives me a sweet kiss. A lingering one that doesn't show the need and lust we usually have but rather the love we share.
A sweet kiss that makes my heart melt into a puddle of nothingness. One that makes my head spin and my breath disappear.
I pull away and look at him, he opens his eyes and look into mine like he is reading my mind.
"What are we going to do this vacation?" I ask and he lifts his hand and tuck a stray piece of hair behind my ear. The graduation ceremony is held the day after tommorow then the end of the year, or in our case end of school in general, holidays would begin.
"We, miss spy are going to enjoy ourselves. We are going to spend time together and make memories, we are going to use this vacation to make each other remember one another for the rest of our lives." He says.
"Your forgetting one small piece, my dear Cody." I say and close my eyes feeling the heaviness in my eyelids.
"And what is that gorgeous?" Cody asks and I feel his thumb softly brush over my cheek.
"I don't need something else to make me remember you, you are already something I will never forget." I say with my eyes still closed.
After my words I feel a kiss placed on my cheek and after that I fell into a dark sleeping night with dreams, or rather memories of me and Cody.
All those times we hung out together, the time I slept next to him in the tent. The morning after, and every special moment we had together.
All the good times and I thank the stars that my brain kept out the times when we fought or the time he and Raven had a thing going. That would have made me angry and grouchy the following day.
After the ceremony we can celebrate and relax for two weeks, two weeks until the real life would kick in and we would have to step into adulthood.
Into the real world.
