«Shannon»

I opened my eyes when the sunlight shined onto my face and I groaned and got up.

Cody was at his house because he haven't been there in a while and he said he had stuff to do.

I did the things I usually do in the morning and went down stairs. When I grabbed an apple I heard my phone and looked at it. It showed a message notification.

Morning baby... Car got a flat. Can't make it to school, sorry. Love you 💙

I frowned and looked at the time. School was about to start in 10 minutes so I just went to my car after I locked the apartment.

This day is awfull so far... I just want to go to bed and sleep. The ride to school wasn't even fun because the radio didn't play anything enjoyable just some songs that sounds like a is cat dying.

I reached school and made my way to my locker, the people could see that I'm not in a good mood today so some of them just made space for me to pass.

I opened my locker and sighed. Looks like Cody really isn't going to ask me to prom. He hasn't even dropped a hint that he wanted to go.

"Hey Sil." I hear Alex from behind me.

"Hi." I sigh without even turning around.

"Who broke your crayons this morning?" he asks and I turn around swiftly.

"No one did." he seems shocked but then look at me worriedly.

"Is everything okay?" he asks

"Yes... Everything is just peachy." I say extra sweetly and he sighs.

"Being sarcastic and sweet isn't a good sign. Tell me what's up." he says and leans against the locker beside mine.

I turn back and grab a few books while I talk to him. "Everything is just fine Alex. I'm fine with no one asking me to prom. I'm fine with not having a dress. I'm fine with Cody not asking me to go with him to prom. I'm fine with him not being here today. I'm fine with everything just like everyone expects me to be because Shannon is just a person who doesn't need anyone because she can manage herself!" I say and as I get further  into my rant I talk louder. At the end I slam my locker shut and take a deep breath.

Alex looks at me with wide eyes and then he looks around us to see some people looking at us.

"Well... Uhm." he starts but I don't listen, instead I walk away to my class.

The day dreads and I feel like crying. Every single person is hanging out with his girl or her guy. Even at lunch everyone was all lovey dovey and I just couldn't take it anymore so I left and sat in the silent library.

I'm thankfull the lady there didn't flirt with her cat or I would have lost it completely.

I wanted to skip practise today but decided agaisnt it because the guys can't flirt with girls and I can be able to get my mind off things.

After I changed I walked to the sport grounds while looking down and kicking an empty water bottle along the way.

"Head's up!" I hear someone yell and I look up and see a football coming right at me. Thank the stars I caught it otherwise it would have hit me right in my face. That would count as another reason to avoid Sunday night's event.

I look at the ball and see writing on it in white.

You forgot your phone in your Maths class.

What the hell?

I drop my bag and search for my phone when it is indeed not in there. I groan and walk back to my Maths class walking slowly and frowning while I walk to the class.

When I reach, eventually, I push the door open and see my phone on the table, right in the centre of the class. The lights is on but I see the teacher isn't here so I walk to the desk and grab my phone. I click the power button but see my lock screen wallpaper have been changed.

I frown and read the message on the screen.

Rough day? Hope this makes it better. Just sit down.

I roll my eyes and sit down in my chair. The lights go off and the projecter in the class goes on. It shows a white light on the front board and I wait patiently.

This is dumb.

I just want to go home and sleep until Monday. At least school is cancelled for the Grade 12 students because the graduation is in about a week or something.

The white light goes away and a picture of me comes up. Another one follows and I look at it weirdly.

I see more pictures and I realise it's a slideshow but it's creepy as hell because I don't know who has pictures of me.

Then some pictures of me and Cody comes up and I smile at the memory. More comes up but I see it's neither me nor him who took the pictures, someone else did.

Even the snap from the date we have when Cody walked in front of me and held my hand.

Those selfies we took when I finished getting ready for Max's party and afterwards Cody asked me to send them all so that he can put it on his walpaper and all his accounts.

The one where we kiss was my wallpaper, now I have to change it again.

Photo's of all the fun stuff we did. Some of me sleeping and some of him taking a selfie with me not paying attention. At the end I have a huge smile on my face and I keep having flash backs of the memories but when I look up to the screen again I see another message.

Remember the Math homework.

I groan... Well that got my happy mood down again. I walk to my locker and open it but step back as a single balloon floats up into the air and reach the roof of the hallway. There is a string attached to it and on the string a pink note is dangling right in front of my face.

I grab a hold of it and read the message inside the folded card.

Use the last digit of you sell number as a clue. That's how many minutes you got until the janitor closes the school doors for the weekend. Hurry!

My cellphone number ends on a 2.

My eyes widen and I look at my watch to see that I only have 2 minutes left. The janitor usualy close the doors early on a Friday.

I quickly slam my locker shut and speed down the hallway hoping to make it on time.
