"I have to go, see you later love." Cody says as he kisses the top of my head and I watch him walk out of the living room.
"Alex, talk to me." I say and turn to him with a sigh.
He's been observing the past few days with me and Cody and he has noticed Cody's strange behaviour aswell.
We came back from Max's parents Lake house a few days back and the holiday is almost over. Cody hasn't said anything about his plans for after the vacation and I really don't want to push him so I promised myself not to ask him about it because maybe it would end up in a fight and I really don't want that.
"About what?" He asks and glances at me as he plays on the gaming console.
All the others is somewhere with friends or with their families and it's sad to think that I won't be able to see all of my friends for a long time.
"You know perfeclty well what." I say and sit up, resting my head in my hands. Cody has been acting weird since we came back from the Lake house and he is almost never around anymore.
He is always busy with something and when he is in my company he isn't like he always was the playfull and cool guy I fell for, he is this stranger who looks like he has the whole world on his shoulders.
I know I shouldn't be the one to talk but I know Cody will miss his football buddies a lot. I know that good and well but, really... He shouldn't be stressing about them. He is going to the same place the rest of the jocks are going.
He is either going to follow his dream, or his father's.
It's not like he's going to be a stranger in the social group of this new chapter of his life. It's not like he has to prove himself to them all over again just to earn some popularity points. He'll probably be their football captain and he will have girls falling to his feet in less than two days, while I'm going to live my dream.
Or he'll be the smartest guy there, studying law. The girls will fall for his looks, brains and personality.
Just like I did.
"What do you want me to say Sil. I know it can be hard to let go of people and that is what I hate about when things come to an end because usually the relationships you made also ends but maybe it's for the better. You'll meet other people but more improtantly you'll be living your life long dream. I know how long you've waited to just pack up and go, to go and see the whole world but you can't take all your friends with you. It's impossible." he says while he doesn't look away from the television screen.
"I know but it feels like everyone is leaving Peter." I say and think about my parents. They left, they are happy and I want to be happy to but if it means I'll always leave then I don't want to have relationships, with anyone, because I'll always leave them behind.
"Sil. Everyone has their own dreams and goals in life, you can't be selfish and want everyone by your side for the rest of your life because I'm sorry if this hurts you but actually... You're the one leaving. You can even stay but it doesn't mean everyone else will stay here too." He says.
"You're right." I say and get up realising I'm the one who cause my own pain.
"Just let life take the control, because right now... You're not sure what you want and that can make or break your future. If it's meant to be it will be. You can't force something you want to last forever." He says, still focussed on his game.
"Wow you're just a box of quotes today aren't you?" I laugh and he chuckles.
"What can I say, gaming is good for my soul." He says in a wise and calm voice and I laugh.
"Thank you though. You helped me a lot." I smile and then leave the room and go to the kitchen.
I get some snacks and go up the stairs to my room. It is still like it usually is because I will always come back to this place every once and a while but some of my clothes is packed into my bag and some of my toiletries as well, the things I need.
Everything I need to fly to Barcelona is ready and set, I placed all the paperwork into a folder and onto my night stand so that it doesn't disappear untill I have to catch my flight two days from now.
My parents is already in Spain and they are both waiting for me to get there and spend some time with them and to make some friends.
I'm going to spend New years Eve with my family because I did spend my Christmas at Max's house a few days back. It was really fun and I enjoyed it.

"Hey Shannon hand me that sparkly ball please." Max says as he tries to bend down as far as he can without falling down from the ladder.
He is decorating a comically large Christmas tree with some decorations he found in a closet.
"The pink one or the silver one?" I ask holding up both of them.
"Uhm... Silver." He says and I hand it up to him and he delicatly places it onto a branch.
I feel my wrist buzz slightly and I look at the bond band and I realise Cody is missing me, probably waiting for me to go find him.
I touch mine too and walk to the kitchen to see Livia and Katy laughing about something.
"Hey, have you guys seen Cody?" I ask and they both shake their heads, still laughing their asses off.
I walk through the living room and climb up the stairs. I open the gaming room and see him and Alex playing air hockey.
"Hey, what are you two lozers up to." I ask and Alex chuckles.
"Just playing some games around the room, next round is me and you Sil." Alex says as I hear the puck slide into a hole and Alex cheers. He stops when we all hear a loud noice come from the living room. We all dash out and look down at the hilarious scene at the bottom of the stairs.
Max is laying on the gound, covered in decorations while Livia is standing a few steps away from him with a tray of cookies in her hands, she looks like she can't stop her laughter and I look around and see everyone looking at them from around the house, everyone trying not to laugh but some failing.
"Marry-fucking-christmas to me." Max says and lets his head fall back.
«...»
But the sad truth is that I'm leaving in about 48 hours and... I don't think Cody is going with.
