Till this far I'm nervous as hell... and they are having a family reunion. They are still hugging and I think it's already like 3 minutes that passed.

Feels like 3 fucking hours if you ask me.

They eventually let go of each other and Shannon comes to my side with a big grin on her face.

She slides her hand around my waist and I rest my arm on her shoulders while pulling her small body into mine.

"Mom, Dad... This is Cody. Cody this is my parents, Hunter and Ashley." She say introducing me to them and vice versa.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Anderson." I say and leave Shannon's side just to greet them by hand. Her father seems wary and her mother looks quite shocked by my appearance.

"Nice to meet you to, Cody." Her mother says in a sweet voice while standing into her husbands embrace.

I can already tell what type of father he is. He is one of those that will hunt you down and torture you if you do something to make his little girl upset. But I also know that fathers like that only make it seem like they are going to make your life hell for about an hour or two and after that, If they like you, they are quite chilled with you.

If not you will have one hell of a father in law.

Her father gives me a nod of his head and I smile at him while Shannon looks between all three of us.

"Do you guys want some refreshments?" her mother asks, breaking the silence.

"That would be great... Let's all go sit." Her father says and let the girls walk in first. He stands on the side and wait till Shannon is inside then he walks in abrubtly just when I assumed I should walk in to.

I sigh.

It's only for an hour or two.

I follow the queue to a cosy looking living room where there is a fireplace. Some book shelves with a hell lot of books in. There is a carpet on the floor. An arm chair, where her father is walking to. Right next to a small table with a remote for the flat screen Tv on the other side of the room. Then there is two more couches and a vase with some plastic flowers in.

Shannon sits down on one of the two couches and pats the space next to her indicating that I should follow suite.

She looks quite happy and energised, I wish I could get some of that attitude.

I sit next to her and rest my elbows on my knees. She then snakes her arm around my upper arm and lean into my touch, she's trying to calm my nervous state and I'm beyond thankfull for that... Her touch is like magic.

I wonder as if she know that that move actually worked?

"Here we go." Asley returns and she is holding a waitering board supporting 4 glasses filled with what looks like fruit juice. She is holding it out to me and Shannon and I let her take one first then I take one and thank Asley for it.

"So, Cody... Tell me a bit about yourself son." Hunter says as he takes a glass and take a sip.

"Well sir. I do well in my academics and I'm the captain of the school's football team-" I start but he interrupts me before I can go on.

"-what position?" he leans forward slightly, I can see interest and I smile when Shannon places her hand on my thigh.

"Quarterback sir." I say proudly.

"Nice... What do you want to become in the future?" he asks and I'm slowly growing sick of this question but answer anyways.

"My dream is of one day becoming a football star but my father wants me to be a star in Law work." I say and glance at Shannon to see her smiling at me like she is apologising.

I smile back to let her know it's okay and then Hunter grabs my attention again.

"What do you do in your free time?" he asks.

"I train and practise but other than that I just do normal teenage stuff, I guess... Living it up before I enter the adult world and have to start working." I say.

"What do you value most?" He asks.

"Family and friends. Basically all the positive relationships in my life because without the people I'm close to, I'm nothing." I reply truthfully.

"That's enough for now dad..." Shannon stops the questionare with a small laugh and I look at her in adoration.

She really is amazing.

"Yes Hunter, they came to visit us, not for a pop quiz." Ashley laughes and I let out a chuckle.

"Fine." he sighs and drink his cold drink.

"Oh Shannon... I wanted to give you something." Asley smiles and run out the room.

She comes back with a small box. She hands it to Shannon and she opens it and take a look at it.

"Aww... Thank you mom, it's beautiful." She stands up and give her mom a hug.

I saw a glimpse of it and it looks like a small bracelett with a bunch of charms on it. The charms is spread all around the silver band

Shannon returns and turns to me once she sits. She takes out the small silver bracelett and hand it to me.

"Put it on please." She says and holds her wrist above my lap.

"Sure." I say and clip it once I wrapped it around her small wrist.

"Me and your father began adding charms to it when we first started to travel, when left you here to finish school. So far every place we've been at, we bought a charm to add so you know where we were and I thought it was a nice idea." Ashley says and Shannon smiles at it.

"I love it." She says and she smiles at her parents.

"Thank you." She says and then turns to me and inlace our fingers together.

"I'm glad you like it dear." Ashley smiles and I note how much different her family is from mine... Mine is so formal and always in a profesional appearance coming home from some meeting or conference.

Her family is cosy and loving. Much less formall. They're very accepting of others, well her mother is, so far. They show love in the way they interact with one another and they are proud of things that they call theirs.

They are the family I always read about in stories or saw in the movies.
