Not Goodbye

A/N: I was inspired by Riverdale Season 3 Episode 12 for this one-shot.

Sirius POV:

I was happy. I was dating and in love with Remus Lupin and life couldn't get better for us. He also came out to his dad a week ago and everything was well... or so I thought.

One night, I and Remus were at my place, cuddling and laughing and kissing. Suddenly, we hear a knock on the door. Remus gets up to open the door and when he does, someone immediately knocks him out. I scream like a madman as they drag me and him through the house, and out to the backyard. 'They' were a group of seven people, all wearing masks on their faces. 

As they were about to beat me and Remus up, our friends and family showed up and held down the intruders as they had been tipped off. By this time, Remus had regained consciousness. When I went to the leader and removed the mask, I was shocked, to say the least when Remus exclaimed, "DAD?!?".

His dad was arrested, and he stayed at my place for the night.

The next day, at school, he came up to me and said, "Hey Sirius. I... um... I am... I am moving to Valley Broad for a while. I just... need to get away from his town for a while."

Those words bought tears to my eyes that I tried to suppress as I said, "Oh... I... I get it, Rem. I... I will miss you, a lot."

"Me too. I love you, Sirius."

"I love you too, Remus."

We lean in for a brief kiss and when we pull apart, he says, "This is not goodbye, Sirius. This is a 'See you later'".

"Bye, Remus.", I say, waving at him as he turns around and leaves. A tear escapes from my eye before I break down and cry my eyes out. James and Peter come to comfort me but it doesn't remove the emptiness and ache in my heart. Why does the world have to be so cruel?

Remus POV:

As I turn around, a tear leaves my eye and I see the same happening to Sirius. But I can't break down, not in front of him.

As I turn the corner, my walls break and I collapse onto the ground, cursing the world. Lily comes and hugs me and tells me everything will be okay, but I don't know. How do you go on with your life when you leave a part of your heart and soul behind?

One Year Later...

Sirius POV:

It had been a year since he left, but the hole in my heart has still not been filled. As I was sitting in the Cafe where we had our first date and sipping hot chocolate, his favorite drink, I hear the doorbell ringing.

I don't look up because what's the use. I keep drinking the hot chocolate until I hear the voice I have been longing to hear for a year now.

"Sirius?"

"Remus? Remus!", I exclaimed, standing up and hugging him tightly, never wanting to let go. Tears spring to my eyes and I try to stop them but in vain. I can feel even his tears on my back.

As we break the hug, we both have smiles on our faces. We then close the gap together as he leans both and I stand on my tiptoes. The kiss is magical. It felt wonderful to feel love again. The passion, the energy, the lost days, the sadness, the happiness, all expressed with this one kiss. 

When we pull apart, we are still smiling like lovesick idiots.

"Be my boyfrined again, Rem?", I ask, holding out my hand.

"Gladly, love.", he replies, taking my hand as we walk out of the cafe. 

"See, it was never really goodbye.", Remus says. "Just a 'See you later'...", I complete, kissing him again.

I just found the will and reason to live again. And I am never letting it go...

A/N: Hey guys! So, now you know that I am obsessed with Riverdale (and Stranger Things, and Harry Potter, and Miraculous Ladybug). The first half of this one-shot was based on Kevin and Moose in that episode of Riverdale. It was sooo sad. 

UPDATE: A couple of things to add to my list of obsessions: Phan (Dan and Phil), Snowbaz (from the book "Carry On"), Troye Sivan songs, Sabrina Carpenter songs and Alec Benjamin songs.

Remus is Moose and Sirius is Kevin. I made myself sad writing this, but then happy again because of the ending.
