Movies & A Snack

Sirius POV:

Finally done! The last box is opened and I can now collapse on the floor out of exhaustion.

I just moved to this new town today after graduating from university. I have spent the entire day unloading and opening boxes, which I didn't think would be so much work.

I don't want to stay among the boxes right now and the only thing that I can go to is the movie theatre. I don't really like movies but right now, it seems like heaven because of the opportunity to get popcorn.

I didn't even bother to change, just walked out the door with my phone, keys, and wallet.

When I reached the movie theatre, it felt like a different world. I don't know if it was heaven, but I definitely saw an angel working there.

Behind the counter, there is this jewel of a man who I swear is glowing like he has an invisible halo above his head. He has the most vibrant smile on his face as he served the customers in front of him. 

When someone brushed past me, I realized that I had been creepily standing in the theatre staring at this man for at least 30 seconds. Glad no one had thrown me out yet, I walked to his line. 

As the line moved forward, I got more nervous, wanting to flee but also wanting to stay. Soon, I was in front of him.

"Hello! What can I do for you today?", he asks cheerfully.

"Hi, I'm new in town and I love movies." That is not entirely false because I am new to town. "Could you suggest any good comedy movies on right now?"

"Oh absolutely!", he exclaims and then proceeds to list five different movies. I randomly pick one and he gives me the ticket. I also buy popcorn because the best part of coming to the movies is the snacks (in this case, it's not just food).

"Thanks, I'm Sirius by the way," I say as I pay for everything.

"No problem, I'm Remus," he replies with a smile.

"Well, Remus, I think I will be seeing a lot of you cause I absolutely love movies," I say. Why do I keep saying that?!?!

"That's great Sirius, I look forward to that."

"See ya!", I wave and walk towards the movie hall. I think this will be a daily routine now.

I was right.

At least once a week, I would make it a point to go to the movies simply to see Remus and eat popcorn. It's been six months and over this time, we have become great friends so I see him even outside of the theatre.

Although, I still like him. A lot. 

Right now, we are at my finally-fully-set-up apartment, splayed out on the couch, facing each other. 

"Hey Sirius, are you gonna go to the movies today?", Remus asks me.

"Nah, too lazy," I reply, causing him to laugh.

"I'm surprised, you basically live at the theatre considering how often I see you there."

Without thinking, I say, "Yeah and that's funny considering I don't even like movies."

"Wait, you don't like movies? Then why do you go there so much?", Rem asks with confusion.

'Shit, I messed up bigtime', I think. "I- uh... I mean I had originally come for the popcorn."

"Oh ok. But why did you keep coming to the movies though? It's not like it's cheap."

I start fidgeting with my fingers to avoid looking Remus in the face. "causeofyou," I say so fast that the words get jumbled up.

"What?", Rem asks as he couldn't understand me, obviously.

I sigh and say, "I kept coming back to the theatre 'cause I wanted to see you." At this point, I'm bending my pinkie back so much I think I might break it.

Rem looks taken aback as he points to himself and asks, "Me?"

"Yes! You look so perfect all the time and I have liked you since then and I never thought I would ever be able to even be your friend so the only way I could ever see you was when I came to the theatre. And before you think the attraction is superficial, you should know that getting to actually know just increased those feelings," I explain, actually looking at him for once.

He is speechless for what felt like a long time but was probably 20 seconds.

"Whoa, um, I was not expecting that. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate it. Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't notice what a mess I was the first time we talked and why wouldn't I be when such a gorgeous man walks in front of me.  Um... I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like you too and maybe you could be my boyfriend?", Remus rambles.

My eyes widen in shock as I process what he just said. "Really?", I ask.

"Really."

I smile as I get up off the couch to walk and stand beside Remus. "Yes, I would love to be your boyfriend, Rem."

Remus smiled, grabbed the collar of my shirt, pulled me down closer to him, and kissed me.

That was the single most perfect moment of my life. I have never felt safer.

"That was...", I say.

"Amazing," he completes. I nod in agreement and kiss him again.

I am loving this town so much more than my old one already.
