3rd Person POV:
Numb. That is how Remus feels all the time. He stopped feeling emotions a long time ago since a year after Harry became an orphan. This was the side effect of being away from his soul marked soul mate for too long.
You see, everyone born in the wizarding world has a mark on their left shoulder that corresponds to someone else's mark. Those marks are called Soulmate Marks and the two people with the same mark are soul mates. Once you are have turned 17, you slowly stop feeling emotions if you are away from your soulmate for too long.
Remus' soulmate was Sirius. Remus knew that Sirius was innocent, he knew that Pettigrew was to blame, but he could do nothing. No one would listen to the rantings of a supposedly deranged Werewolf. So, he became numb to the world.
In Harry's third year, 2 days before a full moon, Remus feels sadness for the first time in 11 years. A minute later, he realizes that Sirius must be nearby. "Sirius?", he calls out, hoping for a reply.
"Please come out", he says and hears a ruffling behind him. He turns around to see Sirius Black, only this time in Prisoner clothes and very shabby looking. His hair was a mess. The previous Sirius Back would never let that happen to his hair, ever.
"Sirius...", Remus whispers under his breath before running to him and hugging him tightly.
"Oh, Sirius, I missed you so much. I tried, I really did, I tried to tell Fudge that you were innocent but he wouldn't listen to me"
"You-you don't hate me, Remus?", Sirius asks Remus in shock.
"Of course not! I know you are not the one who did it, it was Pettigrew.", Remus replied.
Sirius sighs in relief with tears in his eye and simply hugs Remus even tighter than before. They break the hug to stare at each other's eyes, before leaning in for a long-awaited kiss.
That kiss was needy but full of overdue love, passion, and happiness.
"Let's go get your name cleared, Sirius Black-Lupin."
A/N: This oneshot gave me FEELS!
Just a continuation to this oneshot, Remus and Sirius (in his animagus form) head to Dumbledore's office. Dumbledore calls the current Minister of Magic, feeds Sirius Veriataserum (unlike the original trial), and hears him out, finally learning the truth about that night. Scabbers is then arrested as Peter Pettigrew and sentenced to the Dementor's kiss. Sirius and Remus live happily ever after.
