Beca Mitchell was starting out her final year of high school at Barden High in Georgia. Beca was only a small girl - five-foot-two with long, brown hair and dark blue eyes, which she circled with heavy eyeliner. The brunette sported an alternative look since she didn't dress like the other girls in her school. She preferred jeans, boots, t-shirts, and a flannel button-up over skirts and heels. She didn't look completely like a boy but she didn't look exactly feminine either. But that didn't bother Beca. She believed that if people didn't like what she wore then too bad. Beca was quite apathetic. She had trouble connecting with people on an emotional level, let alone anything else. She had always been that way. Her parents divorced when she was just a child and she had never fully recovered from it.
Beca adored her mother and never understood why she left and over time, Beca slowly began to resent her. She felt as if everything had been taken away from her and she couldn't fully forgive her father either for letting it happen. Beca's father tried his best to get a nice and stable relationship with his daughter again but nothing worked. Beca just closed herself off from him and focused on her music, which was her life. The brunette had a dream to become a world-famous music producer one day. When Beca was around seven-years-old, she took an interest in music so her parents bought her a guitar, which she was excellent at, not to mention the piano. Luckily, her parents already had one so they didn't have to buy another instrument. Years later, they bought Beca a computer and some other music equipment and that's all Beca needed to get started on making her own music and making mixes of different songs.
Beca's father was extremely proud of her and supported her dreams to become a music producer but he was also focused on the girl finishing her studies so that she could get into a good music agency. Beca didn't really care about school but since her father was a successful English professor at Barden University, he was very passionate about education and was able to strike up a deal with Beca. If the brunette did well at her studies, he would pay for Beca to go over to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of music. Beca was over the moon with the offer and agreed to it instantly.
On the first day of school, Beca got up and ready, dressed in her standard attire and made her way to Barden High. The first thing Beca did was meet up with her friends. The brunette was a closed-off person but she did manage to land herself a good group of friends. It was only a small group but it was enough for Beca. In the group, there was Beca Mitchell, Stacie Conrad, Aubrey Posen, Fat Amy, Cynthia Rose Adams, and Jesse Swanson. All of them were good friends of Beca's, with Aubrey being the newest addition to the group only because she and Stacie were dating. Aubrey was a smart girl who always got straight A's in all of her classes. She was the captain of the prom committee and had signed up to be the school's President. Beca and her group had no doubt that the girl would win since every teacher thought she was great and would make a great President.
Beca wasn't sure about Aubrey joining their group since the two of them butted heads a lot of the time but Stacie adored her so the brunette didn't get much of a choice. Beca had absolutely no idea why anyone would take an interest in the uptight blonde, especially Stacie of all people who was known for her promiscuous lifestyle. But, Stacie adored the girl and for some reason, Aubrey adored her right back and the two of them starting dating and had been dating for nearly a year now. Even though they were pretty much all over each other, it was nice to have a couple in the group just to make things a little sweeter, much to Beca's disgust.
The first day of the year began just like it always did with a morning orientation then half-an-hour in homegroup where new timetables were distributed. Beca was happy since she had Music class first up, which was her favourite subject. Once she looked at her timetable, she quickly sent a photo of it to the group chat she had going on with her friends. They all sent their timetables and figured out what classes they had with each other and they all had at least one friend in each other their classes.
