Chloe made her way into her Biology class and sat at her usual seat which was at the back with Stacie. The tall brunette smiled at Chloe once she entered the room and sat next to her.

"Hey," Stacie greeted.

"Hey," Chloe smiled.

"Ready for our test today?"

"Yep. I'm all ready to go," she answered confidently.

"Excellent. What did you just have?"

"English."

"Oh, yeah... English with Beca?"

"Yeah."

"How did that go?"

"Yeah, good."

"Just good?" Stacie said with an eyebrow raise and Chloe became confused.

"Ah... yeah... Why? What's that look for?"

"Oh, come on, Chloe. Don't give me that," Stacie teased.

"Give you what? I have no idea what you're talking about."

"I see how you look at Beca during recess and lunch."

"I... I don't know what you mean, Stacie. I don't want to cause any trouble... I, I..."

"Hey, hey, hey, it's alright," Stacie chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. "I was just playing with you. It's alright. I was just trying to have a little fun with you and besides, I've got Aubrey."

"Oh... right," Chloe laughed awkwardly.

"But for real though, do you like her?"

"What?" Chloe's eyes widened in shock.

"Do you like her? Beca."

"I... I... She's a good friend. I don't really know her that well."

"I mean do you like her romantically?"

"I... I..." Chloe couldn't speak.

"Look, I'm only asking because I see the way you look at her sometimes and it's totally fine. If you don't have feelings for her or anything just tell me to shut up now and we won't speak of this again. It's just something that I've noticed that's all."

"I... I, ah... Umm..." Chloe fiddled with the silver thumb ring that she wore on her left thumb, something she did whenever she was nervous.

"It's okay, Chloe. I know it's none of my business and I'm sorry for putting you on the spot like that. It's just, as you probably know already, Beca's very... blind when it comes to things like this. So, if you like her you're gonna have to show her or else she'll never know."

"I... I... I don't think she even likes me as a friend."

"I didn't think she liked me as a friend either for the first few weeks but after a while, we became close and now we're best buds. Look, Beca's a very distant person. She's like a hermit crab - she doesn't want to come out of her shell so you have to go to her and pull her out of it. Not that I'm saying that you go and pull a hermit crab out of its shell. It'll come out when it's ready."

Chloe giggled.

"Look, the last thing I wanna do is force you to do something and I know what I'm doing right now is very invasive but you're a sweet girl and I don't want to see you get hurt. We all like you in our group and Beca does, too, she just doesn't show it very well."

"I've noticed." Chloe looked around the classroom then leaned in closer to Stacie. "She's super cute and I've always loved that badass look on a girl. She doesn't care and she acts so tough and it's so hot and the fact that she's only small... It's adorable but so attractive at the same time."
