"What do you mean they still don't know where she is?" Beca snapped at her father who just told the brunette that Chloe was still missing.
Beca couldn't stop thinking about Chloe. The redhead was constantly on her mind. Beca was trying to think of different ways to get her girl back but she didn't even know where she was. The police had checked Randall's old house and there was nothing there. They had thoroughly searched the area where he lived and the surrounding ones but they couldn't find anything. The news didn't come lightly to Beca who was absolutely furious. She just wanted Chloe back safe and sound and the longer she was missing, the worse Beca got.
"Beca, you need to calm down, alright? They're doing their best," Mark told her.
Mark wasn't happy about the situation either and he got quite mad at the police for not finding Chloe already but his main priority was to keep Beca safe. The tiny brunette was angry beyond words so it was a task and a half for Mark to keep his daughter calm, well, as calm as he could get her anyway.
"Are they? Because their best SUCKS!" Beca was pacing around the living room, raking her hands through her hair as she tried not to panic. "How can they not know where she is? Her father breached his home detention! They should know as soon as he steps foot outside his house or cuts his bracelet off or even attempts to! He is one of the sickest fucks out there and they don't know where he is! That stupid judge should have locked him up and thrown away the key!"
"Beca, I know you're angry, so am I, but we just need to be patient. The police are trying their best. It's hard when someone has up and left all of a sudden. Randall isn't as stupid as some of us may think he is."
"Bastard... Chloe has been missing for two days - TWO FREAKING DAYS! Don't they say that investigations get harder after the first forty-eight hours then after seventy-two hours, it's really hard? Oh, God..."
"Bec, hey," Mark stood in front of his daughter and held his hands on her arms, stopping her from pacing. "I know you're scared but we just have to trust the police. They know what they're doing, even if it doesn't seem like it - they know."
Beca looked at her dad and sighed. "She's my everything, dad, and if I lost her... I don't know what I'd do... I... I love her and I'd do anything to get her back - ANYTHING."
Beca's words tugged on Mark's heart, causing him to wrap his arms around his little girl. He had never seen Beca like this before. He knew that Chloe meant a lot to her and was special but he had no idea just how important the redhead was to his daughter. It really warmed his heart seeing his little girl happy. Beca had been through a lot when she was a child and it was tough watching her grow up and get more and more distant from people, especially her father. It crushed Mark and he hoped that Beca would have come around on her own but he was extremely happy when Chloe did that for him. In his eyes, Chloe was perfect for his daughter and he couldn't have been happier for them.
"Oh, Bec..." He kissed her head as the girl began to sob. "We'll get Chloe back, alright? We'll find her eventually."
"Who knows what he's doing to her. Chloe would be so scared right now... I just want her back, dad. I promised that I wouldn't let anything happen to her but I let her down. I couldn't stop him... This is all my fault."
"No. No, no, no, it's not your fault, honey. Don't you dare think that, okay? NONE of this is your fault. This is all on Randall. He violated the rules and he'll pay for it. You saw how much those police officers despised Randall when they caught him and you saw how much they respected Chloe and cared for her. They won't stop until they find her. But you need to know that what he did was NOT your fault - not one bit."
"How is it not my fault? I tried to stop him but I couldn't do that. Chloe was screaming and I couldn't help her."
"Beca. You were up against a fully grown man who is a labourer and is twice your size, perhaps more. He was angry and when you're angry, you feel unstoppable and you won't let anything stop you. Randall was set on getting Chloe back and he didn't care about who he had to hurt to do so. You did your best against him and Chloe knows that. I wasn't even there and I know it. It took several police officers to arrest him - that's how dangerous he is."
