Present day...
Chloe was eager to get to school the following day. Her first priority was to meet up with her girlfriend and talk about what was going to happen this weekend. Chloe was both nervous and excited. This was a big step for her but she was willing to do it with Beca by her side. She felt so powerful with Beca and she knew that Beca would look after her no matter what.
Chloe was putting away her books in her locker before she went to look for Beca but the tiny brunette found Chloe first when she slipped her arms around the redhead's body and held her from behind.
"There's my girl," Beca hummed.
"Oh," Chloe giggled. "Hey, Becs," she rubbed her hand along Beca's arm then closed her locker.
"How are you feeling?"
"Umm... I don't know." Chloe turned around. "I mean, I'm excited but sad, you know?"
"It'll be okay, baby. I don't want you to worry about anything. You'll be fine," Beca said calmly and it gave Chloe some reassurance.
"What did your dad say?"
"Now that there's a window for you to leave, he's going to organise things with the police so we can get you out of there safely. Once you're out and once your dad gets back, he'll be arrested. At least, that's what dad says anyway. More details will come once he sorts all of that stuff out."
"Thank you, Becs. You have no idea how happy I am. I owe you and Mark so much."
"You don't owe us anything, Chlo." Beca gently played with Chloe's fingers. "We're happy to do this. I can't tell you how badly I've wanted you out of that house and away from that man. You deserve better and you're going to get it. You're going to be okay now. I promise."
Chloe nodded then looked down from her girlfriend and Beca knew that something was wrong.
"Chlo?"
"Mm?"
"What's wrong? You look upset."
Chloe sighed. "I appreciate everything you're doing for me, Becs, I really, really am, but... I'm just scared about what will happen to me afterwards. I have no idea what's going to happen and it's really scary. Where will I go? You said that you were going to talk to me about it today."
"Yes, I did," Beca nodded. "Dad and I have been talking and we don't want you to go into a hotel or foster care or anything like that. You've been through a lot already and we don't want to put you through more crap. We want you to have a stable life and a comfortable one - a life where you don't have to worry and where you can actually enjoy life."
"That sounds amazing, Becs, but how is that even possible? No matter where I'll go, I won't be able to make it on my own. I know daddy isn't the best man in the world but he's all I've got..."
"I know, but dad and I have come up with something that we'll think you'll like."
"What's that?"
"Well... How would you feel about moving in with me?"
Chloe's eyes shot up to Beca's. She had to take a few moments to register what had just been said.
"M, move in with you?" Chloe echoed.
"Yeah. I didn't like the thought of you going into any sort of care or living by yourself or jumping from place to place. I wanted you to be safe and to be somewhere you felt comfortable and I couldn't think of anything better than to have you move in with me and dad. I talked to him about it and he thinks it's a good idea. He's more than happy to look after you and he sees you as his second daughter. He thinks you're a good influence on me and that it'll be the best thing for you to come home with us. I know it's a big offer, especially since we've only been dating a few months but this is serious."
