"So, Chloe, tell me a bit about yourself," Mark asked the redhead who was sat at the dining table next to Beca.

"Umm... There's not that much to know about me," Chloe answered with a small giggle.

"Nonsense! There's always something to know about everyone! I want to know who you are."

"Umm... Well, I go to school with Beca. My daddy and I used to live in Louisianna but we recently moved over here."

"Why did you move?"

"Daddy wanted a fresh start after my mother died."

"Oh... I'm so sorry."

"That's okay."

"What does your father do?"

"He's a builder so he works a lot."

"Is it just you and him?"

"Yeah," Chloe nodded, eating another forkful of her lasagna that she was powering through.

"Feel free to have some more, Chloe," Mark told her. "I always make too much. I usually have to send Beca to school with multiple pieces to give it to her friends."

"Thank you, Mr. Mitchell. It's good lasagna."

"You're welcome, and please, call me Mark," he smiled.

"Okay," Chloe smiled back then cut herself another piece of lasagna.

"Are you enjoying your new school?" Mark asked the girl.

"Yes," Chloe nodded. "Very much."

"You hang out with Beca and her group, right?"

"Yes, I do."

"Do you like them?"

"Yes,"

"It's okay, Chloe, you can tell the truth," Beca told her playfully.

"No, I mean it. I really do like everyone. They've all got such personalities and they're fun to be around."

"Even Aubrey?" Beca said incredulously.

"Yes," Chloe giggled. "She's got her perks. You just have to look for them."

"I might need glasses for that then. It's hard to see small things with these eyes."

Chloe tutted with a smile and kept eating.

"Do you enjoy English, Chloe?" Mark asked.

"Yes," she nodded. "I love it."

"Thank you for helping Beca with English. It really brings me peace of mind knowing that there's someone helping her out of the kindness of their own heart."

"That's okay. She helps me with Music and I help her with English. We've got a good thing going on."

"I can tell. It's good that you've started it straight away, too. A lot of students don't get help until later on and then they wonder why they have trouble understanding things."

"I like learning and I like helping people. It makes me feel good and it's always nice to see people improve."

"I wouldn't say that just yet..." Beca murmured.

"Hey, come on. You're doing great." Chloe nudged Beca, giving her a comforting smile, causing the brunette to blush and it didn't go unnoticed by Mark.

"I'm glad you two are getting along. Beca is quite the stick in the mud when it comes to meeting new people, let alone befriending them."

"Dad," Beca whined.
