Today was the day Chloe had been dreading. She tried not to lose sleep over it but she did. She tried talking herself out of her worry but nothing worked. She spoke to Beca and Mark who told her that she would be fine. She believed them but something inside her told her otherwise. Chloe didn't want to go but she knew that she had to. It was important. It was for her own safety and the safety of others. Today was the day Chloe was going to testify against her father. Chloe was scared, nervous, and trembling, to say the least. She wished that she didn't have to go but she knew she had to. Despite being anxious, Chloe knew that as long as Beca was there, she was going to be fine. Chloe and Mark went over the questions with the lawyer throughout the week and what Chloe had to say. Chloe was nervous that she was going to forget or screw up but Beca told her that she was going to be just fine.

Beca was nervous for her girlfriend but she knew the redhead could do it. She spent days telling Chloe how everything was going to be okay and how that it would be over before she knew it. Beca had never seen Chloe so scared before and it broke her heart. It broke her heart seeing just how much power Randall still had over her and it made her angry seeing how scared she still was of him. Beca couldn't wait for the moment the judge would tell Randall his sentence and put him away for a long time and hopefully, forever. Beca did everything in her power to calm her girlfriend and support her as did Mark. They both knew how scared Chloe was and Mark reassured Chloe that things would be fine as well. All she had to do was sit in the witness stand and answer the questions the lawyer asked her. It seemed simple enough but the fact that Randall was going to be there made it different.

Beca and Chloe got up the day of the trial and Chloe was so nervous she couldn't even eat breakfast. She just wanted to get the trial over and done with.

"Come on, babe, I know you're nervous but you need to eat. It's going to be a big day and I don't want you feeling tired or sick," Beca said kindly as she was making breakfast for herself and Chloe.

"I appreciate it, Becs, but I'm not hungry. Just the thought of food makes me feel sick..." Chloe shifted uncomfortably in her seat as she rubbed her stomach.

"I know, baby, but please eat something. You don't have to have a big breakfast like me but just have something. Please?"

Chloe looked into her girlfriend's desperate eyes and nodded with a sigh.

"Thank you. How about some toast and fruit?" Beca offered.

"Okay," Chloe nodded.

"That's my girl." Beca started making breakfast for Chloe when Mark walked into the kitchen.

"Good morning, girls," he greeted, doing up his tie.

"Morning, dad."

"Good morning."

"How are you feeling, Chloe honey?"

"Nervous. Scared."

"I know you are, honey, but I can promise you that you'll be fine. Just answer the questions - that's all you need to do and don't even worry about your dad. He won't come near you and he won't speak to you. Everyone will be watching him like a hawk, trust me."

"I know I will be," Beca stated.

"I'm really proud of you, Chloe. You have no idea how brave and strong you are. You are someone to be admired by everyone in that courtroom."

Chloe smiled faintly. "Thank you, Mark. I just want it to be over already and move on."

"Me, too," he chuckled, pouring fresh coffee into a mug. "But it'll be over soon enough, I promise. Once it's done, it's done. You won't have to come back to it. Your dad won't ever bother you again."
