Chapter XXXIX

It had been a week since Beca changed her room around and brought Billie into the house and Chloe loved it. The redhead had done so much with Billie. She played with her every day, fed her, brushed her, and much more. She treated Billie as if she were her own child. Chloe also managed to get a part-time job at the pet store where Billie was adopted. The redhead got a discount on everything in the store, making it easier for her to get food, toys, blankets, and other dog goodies. Chloe loved her job. She worked with animals, which she loved. It just made Chloe want to become a vet more and more. Having her own job also meant that she had money to pay for things herself as well as buy things for her girlfriend. Beca was quite hard to buy for when it came to gifts since the alt-girl liked things to go towards her music equipment. Chloe couldn't afford those things so she opted to just get food for the girl like chocolate and other treats that Beca liked.

Of course, Billie slept in Beca and Chloe's room. Billie's bed was at the end of Beca's bed but Chloe snuck the dog up most nights. Beca protested but the little, white fluffball ended up sleeping with them. Chloe loved Billie so much and she was so grateful that her girlfriend adopted her. Chloe had never had a dog before and she wanted one all of her life but her father didn't like dogs so he didn't get one. Beca had never seen her girlfriend so happy. She smiled every time she saw Chloe and Billie interact. It was sweet and pure and it made Beca glad that she got Billie. Even though she wasn't a dog person, Beca was warming up to Billie. She was a well-trained dog, so much so that there were no accidents inside the house. She went to the bathroom out on the grass and got a treat once she was done. Beca was quite shocked at how well trained she was but she wasn't complaining and neither was Mark.

Both of them were happy to see Chloe happy. Billie was the perfect way to get Chloe's mind off of her father and the trial. Chloe focused all of her time into Billie, Beca, and school. Beca was getting extremely good at English now because of Chloe. She was so confident in class that she even raised her hand to answer questions, something she never did in the past. She even went up to the teacher once to get them to check her work. Chloe was so proud of her girlfriend and Beca was proud of herself, too. She never thought that she'd get the hang of English but she did and she was getting A's and B's. Mark was incredibly proud of her daughter. Beca's ticket to L.A was getting closer and closer and she was so excited. Chloe was excited for her as well but she wasn't sure if she was up for going with the brunette. Chloe had a wonderful life where she was and moving again wasn't something she wanted to do.

It was Friday night and Beca and Chloe were in their room doing homework while Mark was at a meeting at the university. He told the girls that he was going to be home late so they could order something out for dinner, which they did and of course, they got pizza and lemonade - Chloe's favourite. When Beca wasn't looking, Chloe snuck Billie some pizza but Beca knew what the girl was doing. Billie wasn't the quietest eater so it was easy to distinguish Chloe's eating noises from Billie's.

"Okay... and I am done!" Beca announced from her desk while Chloe was sitting on their bed with Billie next to her.

"You've finished?" Chloe checked.

"Yep! That took longer than I would have liked but I'm done."

"Yes! Can I hear it now?" Chloe begged, making Beca laugh.

Beca and Chloe had been given a music assignment where they were asked to either make a song of their choice or pick a song and edit it to make their own version. Since Chloe wasn't as musically talented as her girlfriend, she chose the latter, with Beca's help of course. Beca chose to make her own song. Ever since she met Chloe, the brunette got a ton of inspiration and had made quite a few songs. She only got as far as lyrics though. Putting music to it was an entirely different thing, not to mention time-consuming. Chloe had been dying to hear Beca's song since the alt-girl didn't disclose any information about the song to the redhead, which drove Chloe crazy. Beca and Chloe shared everything with each other so Beca not sharing her music project with Chloe was torture. Chloe even pulled out the big guns and tried to seduce Beca into getting her to give in but it didn't work. It was hard for Beca to resist her gorgeous girlfriend but she was adamant on keeping her song a secret.
