ABSTRACT 0.1 : MEGAN MERCEDES

Time.

We often think of it as wasted. A life that isn't truly fulfilled; things get in the way. And it's slow. Time goes by slowly. No matter how many times we look at that clock in 30 seconds, the big hand has still not moved. And it won't until the minutes up, but we want it to have moved before it's time. When we hate something, or are doing something long, complicated, even boring, time goes by slow. Slower that when we're doing something exciting. It's like that. But that's just a feeling. It's not how the world actually works.

But that's how I felt the world worked. Time went by quickly for the majority of the year. It was fast and suddenly we were into a new era, as it were. 5015 was upon us. The dandelion had been blown and now all it's particles were released in the air. All our memories of a year were made. But never complete.

Luke's absence seemed to hang on us like coats on hangers. His voice was now a space we had to fill with something less important. Three of us in particular felt it; me, Calum and Michael. Maybe even Harry. It was the feeling of knowing the reason why he was gone. The others realised he wouldn't be coming back and Jess was probably glad to be rid of him for a while, but only us four truly knew why. It was an incomplete structure. And it hurt. It was like we had to bare his weight and carry his load because he was on a break.

But what was worse, was that Harry had a letter too. His part of the story and his understanding is beyond comprehendible for me, and mine for him, but I know it's important. Michael told me he never actually sends his letters, but Harry got one 2 years ago explaining everything. Again, it was like they all knew this was going to happen before it did.

Which brings me to my next point: vampires.
