As you can see, a lot of my characters are without parents. This isn't because I'm mean and don't want them to have security, it's to show how difficult it was to survive becoming a vampire. Often the elder members of the families didn't survive. But we have the rarity of the Styles parents and Payne/Tomlinson parents surviving. But we also have Mrs Vlack, who was turning, in her old age, into a vampire but didn't survive it. That may not have been made clear but that's what was going on. The Hood parents aren't vampires. Only their children. As they stayed in Australia and never moved, at least not in time to turn. Calum came without his parents to England aged 7- therefore he became a vampire and his parents escaped it. (But they except it and understand every aspect of the prophecy etc.). Luke's parents died after being a vampire for a while; the sickness continued to live inside them and eventually killed them. Michael's father was in the war and killed in action and his mother committed suicide after he became a vampire. And so, because they don't have parents, you see that they grew older into adults without that kind of security, making them more mature and certainly more reliable on friends.

You'll see both Gemma and Renée make their way into the story. Renée's life is hidden and complicated, being an old friend of Luke's. Her story is told through 'Luke's Letters' as it isn't key to the story, but it helps if you read it as it will ensure you fully understand her as a character and the reason behind many of her actions. Gemma is pretty simple; Harry, Niall and Zayn's sister. You'll understand her as she comes into the story.

Jack is also going to arrive. Yes, he is the same Jack as Megan's dream. Which means he will be important despite his current status in 'aliveness' as it were. (He's dead). He is also the key to understanding the sibling ship between Jess, Mali and Cal. And a relation to another character.

And regarding that, the Hood parents will arrive and be in a few chapters at most as Megan grows towards Mali and Cal and you'll see the result in that. (Jess isn't and won't be adopted into the Hood family incase you needed that info).

So I hope that gives you a little more info on the characters and helps you understand what exactly is going on. Watch on the next few chapters as a lot will happen. I understand that the last chapter (30) was friendships and the way they all work (as well as the importance and the dream) and that there hasn't been much romance, but I need to set you all off and get rid of this mountain of drama first. You need to see how the friendships work before we entire this stage in their lives. You need to get through this stage of drama and shit to see how the 'romance' copes with it and who survives and who doesn't. (That's not foreshadowing it's just generalising.). This book is action packed and in order for it not to slow down to much in the tense parts to explain Lauren and friendships etc. I need to do it beforehand. You'll see why this was important once we get into the next 10 chapters of drama. I promise then you'll have a romantic and corny and slower section before drama kicks off again.
