Idk we been reading Macb*th in English and I got inspired to write some play stuff. A mix of middle english and modern, since that's what I do apparently. Enjoy!

MC = main character
SC = secondary character
Creative, I know. Reminder that thee = formal, you = informal.

[A field of golden grasses. Skies are clear, but tinted gray. MC kneels over SC's corpse.]

MC: Oh, how the grain caresses your warm body so gently. My heart yearns to know your existence in life.

[MC holds SC's corpse.]

MC: Arise, as the kite does in the light summer's breeze, so I may know your name
To whisper evermore. Let my voice be the beacon for your wand'ring soul.

[SC wakes.]

MC: Speak, if you can! What thoughts come to thee?

SC: [Hoarsely] I 'm tired. My journey is longer.
Who are you? Why have we fallen?

MC: You are here for but a short moment. Tell me your name,
Mortal ally, dare I call friend. What shall I call you? What name
Shall I utter as memoir in my endless travels?

SC: A friend... I have searched my life for ever for such a person.
And yet I have no name to tell thee. My name has been lost long ago, with
No person to see me
Nor friend to call me.

MC: So you do not remember your name?

SC: Indeed. How unfortunate, I search for a legacy and find I have lost it.
I may be the downèd bird at this point. I am very tired. So sorry.

MC: In that case, rest. I 'm the one which should be sorry.
I hope you good travels to the Greater.

SC: [Tiredly] I will rest well knowing you care for me. You have granted me safe passage. Good bye.

[MC grips SC comfortingly. SC passes.]
