Maya's POV
Miles and I raced to the hospital as soon as we heard. we got there to see our son lying on a hospital bed with a tube down his mouth. they told us he had been shot in the side 2 times.
When the doctor told us, I collapsed into Miles' arms. the doctor walked away as I started to scream,
"Shhhh, Maya it's going to be ok!" Miles said when he sat me down
"No Miles! it's not going to be ok! My son could be dying!" I said hitting his chest
"Your son?" he asked with a hurt look on his face
"Yes my son!" I said standing up
"Well your son happens to be my son too, I adopted him remember!" He said raising his voice a little
"Well he is the only thing I have left of Cam! when Cam died, so did a little pice of me! if Max dies...I'll have nothing left of Cam!" I said starting to walk away.
Miles grabbed my arm and pulled me back. he said,
"Come on Maya don't do this, don't leave me again."
"Trust me this is the last time. I'm done. we're done."
And with that I walked away.

Max got out of the hospital a month later...
Alyssa didn't make it out.
She died in the hospital.
Max cried for days when he found out.
Medical bills are starting to build up.
We can't afford them.
Who knew that what was about to happen...would change our lives forever.
