Everything Happens For A Reason

*4 months later*

Maya POV

I was sitting on the couch with Miles when I felt an all too familiar pain shot through my body.

"Oh...Miles I think it's time!" I said looking at him with scared eyes

"What? now? let's go!" Miles grabbed me and walked me to the door and grabbed my bag and walked me to the car

The kids were with Miles' parents for the weekend so he called them and told them to meet us at the hospital

"Just breath Maya, breath!"

We finally got there and I was put in a gown and taken into the maternity ward.

They put me in the delivery room and Miles came running in

"It's ok Maya I'm right here."

"Owwww! how dare you Miles you are never going to touch me again!" I said squeezing Miles' hand

"You said that when you had Maddie too."

"I heard that! ow, ow, OW!" I said screaming

"Maya is this more painful then when you delivered your other children?" the doctor asked me

"A lot more painful!" I said wincing

"How bad is the pain, from 1 to 10?" The doctor asked

"It's a 10, defiantly a 10!" I said squeezing Miles' hand

"Ok this is bad, ok guys we are going to have to do a C-Section." the doctor said to his team

"Sir you have to wait outside." a nurse said to Miles

"Wait he's my husband he should be in here!" I yelled to the nurse

"It's fine baby I'm right outside!" Miles yelled to me

2 hours later I was back in the maternity ward with a scar on my stomach and Miles next to me

"Hey baby your awake!" Miles said giving me a kiss on my forehead

"Hey. where's Luke? where's my baby?"

Miles and I decided to name our baby boy Lukas Hollingsworth, Luke for short.

"Umm I haven't heard anything about Luke yet."

Miles held my hand as I got nervous

Just then a nurse walked in the room with a doctor

"Hellos Mr and Mrs Hollingsworth, I'm doctor Barnet and I believe you are Lucas Hollingsworth's parents."

"Yes we are. how's my baby?" I ask so desperately

Who knew that the news to come would crush my heart forever,

"I'm so sorry to tell you this but...Lucas didn't make it. we couldn't get him to cry, Maya you had a Still Birth."

"Oh. My. God. my baby boy is dead?" I said trying not to cry

"It's a very natural thing Maya, 5 out of 10 mothers have Still Births at least once while they are trying to have children."

"does this mean I can't have children anymore?"

"Don't worry Maya you will still be able to have children. I'm very sorry."

"Thank you..."

When the doctor left, I looked at Miles and expected to see him fine, my rock, but instead I saw him crying, it made me cry even harder

"Miles please don't cry..."

"How can I not Maya! my baby boy didn't make it!" Miles started to sob

We just held each other as we cried.

But, as everyone knows....Everything Happens For A Reason.

What Ever It Takes I Know I Can Make It Through.
