"If it's Zach i don't wanna talk to you right now" you say facing away from the door still looking at your phone
"Don't worry it's just me" jack says walking around the couch and sitting by you
"How'd you get out here??"
"Well I walked and then I opened the door and walked out here and yeah, same way you did" he says with a smile trying to cheer you up
"You're an idiot" you say and kind of chuckle
"But for real, how'd you get out here without having a problem with Zach?"
"I asked if he was going to check on you and he said he didn't want to talk to you right now so I said I would and he just didn't say anything and I walked right out here" jack says
"Wow, I was thinking he would try to stop you" you say surprised
"Me too, he's just mad right now"
"I don't even know why he's mad, it's his fault he never lets me do anything. All he does is worry about me doing something he won't like but I'm old enough to make my own decisions without having all his input. I'm just tired of it" you say without holding anything back
"I get it, my sister used to boss me around but when I started singing, she kind of eased off, maybe one day Zach will ease off when you start a life of your own" he says trying to sound understanding
"I'm almost out of highschool and after that I don't even know what I want to do." You say stressed
"Move out here, start singing and playing guitar, you could even take photos for people or be a model" jack says encouragingly
"I could not model"
"You could though, you really are pretty even if you don't think so, lots of companies would love to have you" jack says kind of blushing
"Well thanks but I think I'll stick to staying behind the camera" you say while trying not to blush too much.
"You're too pretty to just be behind the camera" jack says smiling
You blushed. Jack Avery really just called you pretty. You couldn't tell if he was flirting or not. You were starting to get butterflies with him sitting by you and you didn't know what to do.
He started to lean in like he was going to kiss you and then his phone started ringing.
"Oh um..it's Corbyn." He says and then answers
"What's up....alright...ok...I'll ask her....bye" he says obviously talking about you and then he hung up
"What'd he want" you ask
"He said they were thinking about going out to eat and wondered if you want to come?"
"Oh um...I guess so, there's nothing really for me to do here." You say
"Alright well we better head in" jack says getting up
"Hey jack" you call
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for checking in on me and talking to me. You really helped take my mind off my idiot brother" you say rolling your eyes at the end
"You're welcome" he says and smiles
Y'all walk in and all the boys and ready to go. Y'all walk out and get into the Uber and you say by Jonah because Corbyn and Daniel wanted to sit by jack and Jonah was between you and Zach because he knew you didn't want to sit by him. The car ride was normal besides you and Zach not talking to each other. You arrived at the pizza place and all went inside and ordered. You got to sit by jack and Jonah and it was really fun. Afterwards some of the boys went to the Pacsun a few places down from where y'all were. You and jack on the other hand went to Zumies because they had something you were looking for and jack loved to skate. You got in there and started messing around. Jack got on one of the boards and kind of rode around you.
"Let me try!" You said to jack
"Have you ever skated before?" Jack asked
"Well I wanted to when I was younger but my parents wouldn't let me get a board"
"Ok I can help you" jack said with a smile
You got on the board and started trying to ride around. You were doing pretty good. Jack stood near by just Incase you fell. You started laughing and you lost your balance. Jack ran over and caught you and was holding you by your waist. Your eyes immediately met and then Jack looked at your lips and soon he pulled you in your lips met. The kiss didn't last very long because you were in public and didn't want the other boys to walk in and see, especially Zach. When you pulled apart you and jack just looked at each other a minute.
"I'm sorry Maddie, I didn't..I was jus-" jack started
"No..no, it's fine. I promise it's fine" you say
Y'all just kind of stood there a few seconds without saying anything
"Maddie?" jack said breaking the silence
"Yeah"
"I dong know if you already know or not but I really like you...a lot" he said blushing
"I like you...a lot" you said blushing and laughing
"Wait but Zach can't know" jack said quickly
"I agree, if he found out we liked each other he'd send me back to Texas in a heartbeat and if he knew we kissed we'd both be dead" you agreed
"Yeah and I don't wanna die, I have a good life right now" jack said chuckling
"Wait so...does that mean we're dating orrr?" You asked
"I mean I definitely want to but we should definitely keep it on a down low for a while so we aren't rushing things and we don't want Zach to be suspicious"
"I agree" you said
"Wait so does that mean we're dating..secretly?" You asked again for reassurance
"Well Maddie Herron will you be my secret girlfriend" jack whispered making you giggle
"Of course I will Jack Avery" you whisper back
Y'all eventually finished up and met the boys in Pacsun. Y'all bought a few things and then got an Uber home. You didn't sit by Jack so the boys wouldn't suspect anything. Y'all got home and you went to Zach's bedroom because it was where all of your things were. Zach walked in and it was silent for a few moments but then Zach said broke it.
"Hey Maddie"
"Hey Zach"
"So um you know I'm not good at this but I'm sorry and I shouldn't have lashed out on you like that and I've decided to let you've a little more free but I just gotta know one thing and then you'll be free"
"I accept your apology, now what do you want to know?"
"Is there something going on between you and Jack?" He asked nervously....
