You and Zach put your bags in the trunk and then opened the door so you could see who it was. You let out a huge sigh of relief when all you saw was Jonah and Daniel. You and Zach got in and then Jonah started to drive back to the boys house.

"So Maddie is Allie back yet?" Daniel asked
"No she's coming back on Wednesday (it's Saturday)"
"Oh, are you gonna be staying home alone" Jonah asked
"Um yeah, probably, it's only 4 nights" you replied
"Why Don't you just stay with us?" Daniel suggested
"You could just sleep on the couch like you did over spring break" Zach said
"I guess so but I don't really know how that's gonna go with Jack being mad at me" you said
"He'll get over it, but you need to talk to him, he's been in a funk ever since you hung out with Alex" Jonah said
"Yeah, I'll talk to him when we get to yalls house" you said

The rest of the way home was quiet because you and Zach were exhausted but especially you since you barely got any sleep. You arrived at the house and it was only 8:00 am so the boys were still sleeping. You grabbed your bags and went inside. You put your bags in Zach's room and went downstairs and into the kitchen. Jonah was making coffee and you asked for a cup too. You sat down at the bar and texted your mom and told her you and Zach were at his house. After you texted your mom, you decided to get on Instagram. Every post you saw was about you and Alex. You sighed really loud and then Jonah handed you your coffee.

"Are you Okay?" Jonah asked obviously knowing you're not
"Not really but it's fine" you said
"Do you need to talk?" Jonah asked
"Yeah to Jack but he's not awake yet and I doubt he wants to talk about it as soon as he wakes up" you said
"Well how about you go take a nap in Zach's room and tell Zach to go to my room and I'll talk to Jack and y'all can talk later on once you're both awake" Jonah suggested
"No it's fine, I wouldn't be able to sleep anyways" you said
"What time did you go to bed?" Jonah asked
"Around 1:00 am....." you said and Jonah was shocked
"What were you doing up so late?! You had a 6:00 am flight!!" Jonah asked you
"Well I called Daniel to see if he could talk to Jack for me and ask him to answer my text or something and I waited forever and so I just gave up and then I started crying and I couldn't stop and at 1:00 I decided I would just go to sleep and deal with it today" you said
"Damn, you really care" Jonah said
"Of course, and it's breaking my heart to not be able to talk to him and explain everything" you said and took a sip of your coffee
"Well I'm sure after hearing everything, he'll be better" Jonah said
"I hope so" you replied and continued to drink your coffee

After you finished your coffee, you felt a little bit more awake but still tired. You went to the backyard and sat on the couch outside and just went through your social media's. You tried to stay away from all of the Jack and Alex posts and focus more on what your friends were posting. You sat outside for a while because it was really nice outside and you just wanted some alone time. Around 9:45 you heard the backdoor open. You looked up and saw Jack and your heart started racing. He didn't look very happy but he came and sat down in one of the chairs. There was a little bit of awkward silence but you soon broke it.

"Hey.." you said quietly
"Hey" he replied
"Can we talk about everything, please" you asked and Jack was quiet for a little bit
"I don't want to but we need to" Jack replied
"Well I don't wanna talk about it either but I'll feel better if you atleast know the whole story and the explanation for everything" you said
"Okay, tell me" Jack said and you took deep breath
"Okay so first I just want to clarify that I was not at all on a date and I wasn't cheating or even close to cheating on you. Second, I wasn't gonna go but we hadn't actually talked since the breakup and I still had some questions that I really needed answers to, but was always too hurt to ask. Even though Me and Alex's relationship is in the past, there's still some things that I wondered about. You know I wouldn't cheat on you Jack. I know how it feels to be cheated on so why would I put the person I love through that same pain that I had to go through" you said and jack sighed
"Maddie I believe that you didn't cheat but it's just the fact that you didn't even mention anything about going to meet with him." Jack said
"Well I was going to but Zach said I could just tell you the whole story when I got back and it's not like I was planning on having a random fan take pictures of me in freaking Dallas" you replied
"I know but since when has Zach ever given good advice?" Jack asked
"Jack you have to think about it this way, me and Zach are twins and he's been helping me for my whole life. I trust him more than I trust my parents and best friends sometimes. I know he may not give y'all good advice sometimes, but he's given me more good advice than bad advice. He was also not expecting someone to take a picture of me and Alex. You've just got to think about it in a different way."
"I know that but y'all really just based the whole situation off this one perfect story line and didn't think about what could happen" Jack said
"Well Jack, when we go home, we don't expect people to invade our privacy like they do here. People don't run around Dallas with a camera in their hand waiting for someone famous to walk by. I wish you could just accept that an accident happened and it won't happen again. I've figured out everything I needed to know and I'm never talking to Alex again" you said
"I know but when you do something like that and don't tell me about it, it makes me think that you don't care as much as I thought you did" Jack said instantly making you angry
"I don't care?!? If I didn't care, I wouldn't have gone against my brothers rules to be with you. I wouldn't have texted you everyday when you weren't talking to me. I wouldn't have posted on social media addressing everything so you wouldn't have to worry. And I damn sure wouldn't have stayed up crying until 1:00am waiting on you to call me or text me even though I had a 6:00 am flight just to come back here and you say I don't care. Jack I care a lot and it breaks my heart to not have been able to come back and just give you a giant hug and kiss and have everything be alright." You said and your eyes filled with tears
"Maddie, I didn't know you-" jack tried to say but you stopped him
"No, it's fine, you didn't know, you didn't read all of my texts, it's fine. I'm just gonna go home and sleep and maybe it'll all be better when I wake up" you said and went inside.

You grabbed your bags, got an Uber, and walked out and went home.
