Rylan was riding back with y'all because the other girls were staying out of town another day to meet up with some people and go shopping. When you arrived at your house, you were still asleep so Rylan woke you up. You went in and started to your room.

"Bye Maddie I'll see you later" Rylan said and grabbed his bags
"Oh Rylan are you going home? It's kind of late you can just stay here if you want I don't mind" your mom said
"Oh, that sounds great but where can I sleep?" Rylan asked
"You can sleep in Zach's old room" you said
"Okay, thanks" Rylan said

You showed him to Zach's room even though he pretty much knew where it was. You told him goodnight and went to your room and fell asleep almost immediately. You woke up and Rylan was in the kitchen on his phone.

"Good morning" Rylan said to you
"Good morning" you said still having a morning voice
"So are you hungry?"
"Yeah I could go for some good pancakes" you said
"Okay well we can go somewhere and get some"
"Okay Do you not need to go home and get some clothes or anything?" You asked
"Nah, I took after i woke up and I still had some extra clothes I had packed"
"Oh okay well I'm gonna go get dressed" you said and walked back to your room

You put your hair up into a bun and put on some gray leggings, a why don't we hoodie and some sneakers. You and Rylan got in his car and drove to the restaurant to eat. You were still sleepy so you didn't really talk much. You also missed the boys, especially Jack. You and Rylan walked into the restaurant and found a small booth and you already knew what you wanted to you immediately ordered. You got a notification on your phone and it was a text from Jack saying 'Zach isn't happy'. You sighed.

"Are you Okay?" Rylan asked you
"Yeah, Zach just gets on my nerves sometimes" You replied
"What's he doing?"
"Well you know me and you know who are a thing and we have to hide it from Zach because he won't let me date or even like any of the boys and he's apparently mad at Jack about yesterday at the mall"
"Well I can see where he's coming from, these are his best friends we're talking about, he doesn't want you to steal his best friends"
"But that's the thing, me liking them won't steal them, and he's always saying he's only looking out for me but he should be able to trust his sister and his best friends right" You said
"Well he's been out in LA so he's probably gone through a few more situations than you even though y'all are the same age, he probably knows how dating famous people is and doesn't want you to find out the hard way" Rylan said and you just sat there for a minute
"But shouldn't he trust his best friend and his own sister, I mean he doesn't get over protective when I'm around any of the other guys"
"Maybe there's something you don't know" Rylan said but you shook your head
"No, I don't think so, I'm sure I would have found out by now"
"Well maybe but you never know"

Right about that time, your food came so you ate, paid, and drove back to your house. Rylan dropped you off and went back to his place. You called Jack to see what was wrong with Zach but he didn't answer, so you tried again but nothing changed. You FaceTimed Zach and he answered but he wasn't with the boys.

"Hey Zach"
"Hey Maddie, what's up?"
"Oh I was just seeing what you were up to" you said
"Oh I'm at the grove right now shopping for some clothes"
"Oh fun, where are the guys?" You asked trying not to sound suspicious
"Oh, they're at the house I think, why?" Zach asked
"Well, y'all are always together when you shop so I was just wondering"

You talked to him some more and then he finally had to go because he was trying to look through clothes, but it was hard to while talking on the phone. You immediately texted Daniel and asked him what he was doing

M: what're you doing
D: chillin in the music room, why?
M: who are you with?
D: Jonah, Corbyn, and Jack, why??
M: thx :)

You called Jack again but it went straight to voice mail and then you texted him, but there was no reply. You finally decided that something was up so you called Daniel.

"Hey Maddie are you okay" he asked sounding worried
"Can I talk to Jack?"
"Uhh yeah sure" he said and handed the phone to Jack
"Hey Maddie" Jack said sounding kind of down
"Jack why haven't you answered my calls or texts, and what happened to make Zach not happy or whatever?"
"So we were talking about some stuff this morning and randomly Zach asked me if I had talked to you any since we got back to LA and I was like well yeah and he just got super mad and started telling me to stop talking to you and stuff and he made me block you on everything and delete your number, I didn't want to but I had to" Jack said
"He's out of his mind! I swear when I come to LA I'm beating his ass"
"No don't, he's just looking out for you" Jack said
"Why does he only get mad when I talk to you? Why does he only make a big deal when I'm with you? He never says anything about me and Corbyn, or Daniel, or Jonah. It's only you. Is there something that I don't know about?
"Well I mean...I don't know.." Jack said unsure if he should say anything
"What do you mean you don't know? Isn't it your life?"
"You don't need to worry about it, it's nothing"
"Okay most of the time people say it's nothing, it's usually something"
"Maddie can we please just leave it"
"No Jack, I need to know why Zach is so protective, i. can't just let it go now that I know there's something"
"Maddie I don't want to tell you about it like this, can we FaceTime later or something?"
"Well I would love to but then Zach will be home and I don't know if you remember or not but I'm kinda blocked on everything"
"Maddie please, you're coming to LA in a few weeks, can I please explain it then" Jack asked
"Jack, I really need to know"
"Maddie I can't right now, I'll just call you later or tomorrow but I just can't right now, I'm sorry"
"Jack, I have school, and I have to study, and finals or coming up and graduation, I'm already stressed enough, I don't need this right now"
"I can FaceTime you right now but let me get my phone and try to unblock you"
"Okay, I'll be waiting"

Jack hung up and you just scrolled through twitter and waited for Jack. Finally almost 15 minutes later, you got a FaceTime call from Jack.
