You woke up and it was your last day home, you would be leaving early the next morning. You went downstairs to see if your mom was cooking but she wasn't. You decided to text your friends and see if they wanted to get breakfast together. They agreed so you went to your room and put on some blue jeans shorts with a T-shirt and your Birkenstock's. You brushed out your hair and did your everyday makeup. After you were ready, you got into your car and drove to meet your friends. Y'all ate breakfast and talked about what y'all were gonna do for your last day home. Once you had gotten a plan together, they asked you about Jack and Alex. You told them everything going on and how Jack wouldn't answer your texts.

"Well have you tried calling him?" Rylan asked
"I mean I figured if he didn't answer my texts then he probably wouldn't answer my calls" you said
"Well why don't you try to call him now, it's a new day and he's had time to sleep and think about everything" Katie suggested
"Okay, I guess I'll try" you said and took out your phone

You tapped Jack's name and the phone started to ring. You sat there for a little while waiting for him to answer but he never did. You weren't surprised and just sighed.

"See, I told you he wouldn't answer" you said
"Well it was worth a shot" Peyton said and everyone agreed

Y'all left the restaurant and spent most of your day shopping and hanging out. Around 3:00 you went home because you had to visit with your family one last time before going back tomorrow. You we're already ready to go, so you got home about 5 minutes before you had to leave. You, Zach, and your parents got into the car and drove to your grandparents house. Every conversation was the same as last time. This time though, everyone knew you had a boyfriend so they asked a lot about him and they wanted you to call him so they could meet him. You acted like everything was okay and you told them he couldn't call because he was working on music, but in reality he wouldn't talk to you and you knew he wouldn't answer your calls. Everyone believed you and just carried on their conversations. Afterwards, you had to visit your other grandparents and everything was the same. You got home around 9:00 and had to start packing all of your things. You were sad to be leaving but you wanted to get back and talk to Jack. You finished packing around 11:00 so you decided to try to call Jack. He obviously didn't answer so you sent him a text.

M: Hey Jack! I just wanted to say goodnight and I love you and I wish you would answer me :) anyways see you tomorrow❤️

He left you on read and you really just wanted to talk to him. You decided to call Daniel so he could talk to Jack because you didn't think Zach would be good to talk to. You called Daniel and he picked up after a few rings.

"Hello?" Daniel said
"Hey Daniel" you said
"Hey Maddie, what's up?" He said
"Well I was wondering if Jack was home? I know he's mad at me right now but I really just want to talk to him, I miss him a lot" you said and Daniel stayed quiet for a minute
"Ummm he actually is up in his room right now so I'll call you back and maybe he'll talk to you" Daniel said
"Oh okay, bye" you said and hung up

You waited for quite a while for Daniel to call you back or to get a text back from Jack but it wasn't happening. You looked at the time and it was 11:45 and you really needed to go to sleep because you had a 7:00 am flight. You needed the sleep but you wanted to talk to Jack. You eventually texted Daniel and told him not to worry about it because you had to go to sleep. After you sent the text your eyes started watering. You let out a few tears which then multiplied, but you were a quiet cryer so it wasn't bad. You were regretting ever seeing Alex and going to eat with him. All you wanted to do was get answers to questions that you used to be too hurt to ask. You continued to cry and you then checked the time and it was 1:00am. You couldn't stay up any longer so you just gave up and fell asleep.

The next morning, you woke up at 4:00 to the sound of your annoying alarm. You rolled out of bed and went into your bathroom. You brushed your teeth and your hair. Afterwards, you got dressed in some gray nike shorts and a comfortable T-shirt. You put your hair into a messy bun and put on your Nike sneakers. You didn't put on any makeup because you weren't going to be doing anything super important today besides seeing Jack. After you were ready, you grabbed your bag and went downstairs where your parents were eating cereal. You joined them and a few minutes later, Zach came downstairs and joined. After breakfast, you put all of the bags in the car and got in and drove to the airport. Once you got to the airport and got the bags out, you hugged your parents and said your goodbyes. You and Zach's friends met you at the airport so they could say bye too. You and Zach gave everyone hugs and got the same airport "call me as soon as you get there" speech. You and Zach promised as always and then said one last goodbye and then walked into the airport. Once you and Zach were on the flight, you started to get nervous. You were sitting beside Zach and decided to talk to him about it.

"Zach, I'm scared" you said
"Why, we've been on tons of flights, you should be over it by now" he said not knowing what exactly you were talking about
"No not about the flight, about getting back to LA. Jack's mad at me for something he thinks I did, what if this ruins our relationship?" You said and started to tear up
"Maddie don't be scared about that, he just hasn't given you the time you need to talk about it, once he hears the whole story and your explanation, he'll understand" Zach said and gave you a hug
"Okay, thanks, I hope you're right" you said

You felt a lot better now. Since you got three hours of sleep last night you decided to sleep on your flight. It didn't take long for you to fall asleep and in what felt like an hour, you were being woken up by Zach because you were landing. Once you landed, you grabbed your bags and then went outside to wait. You weren't sure of who was picking you up, but you were honestly praying it wasn't Jack. After a few minutes of waiting, a car pulled up for you and Zach, but you were unable to see who was inside.
