While you and the girls were talking, they remembered about a dinner that you and Allie were invited to.
"Oh my gosh guys, I completely forgot to tell you guys, but we are having Mya's birthday dinner on Thursday" Olivia said
"No way, where at?" Allie asked
"It's gonna be at my house" Mya said
"Sounds like fun, just text us the times and address and we'll try to come" you said
"Okay, So when is your birthday Maddie?" Evie asked
"May 27" you said and they were all shocked
"Wait that's like in two days, it's the 25th" Sarah said
"Wait for real?!" You said and the girls laughed
"Yes! How did you not remember that your own birthday was coming up??" Olivia said
"Oh my gosh I guess I've been so stressed and focused on other things" you said
"We need to have you a party" Sarah said
"Oh I don't know about that, maybe just a small outing to something simple" you said
"Helllll no, you gotta go big! How old are you gonna be?" Evie asked
"18"
"Oh my gosh! You're gonna be a woman! Okay okay you're having a big party I don't care what you say, just give me a list of people to invite and I can do it" Mya said and you laughed
"I might" you said
Y'all talked some more about your birthday and then you and Allie eventually decided to leave around 12:30am. Y'all arrived back at the house and changed into comfier clothes and went to your beds. You posted on your Instagram story and random boomerang and a countdown till your birthday and also a caption that said "I literally just remembered my birthday...wow." After about 10 minutes, you got a text from Zach.
Z: how did you forget about our birthday?!
M: I've been stressed out about the Chloe situation
Z: well, after you call the police and talk to them about it, you need to just forget about it until after the 27th
M: I know I will
Z: just think about it WE ARE GOING TO BE ADULTS
M: ahh that's crazyyyyyyy
Z: I knowww righttt, anyways, we should have a double birthday party with mine and your friends, we can have a rager
M: hmmm I'll think about it, i don't know about rager but joint party sounds nice
Z: okay, I'll talk to you later
M: okay goodnight love ya❤️
Z: Night love ya too❤️
You eventually fell asleep and the next morning you were awaken by Allie on the phone in the living room. You rolled out of bed and went into the bathroom and brushed out your hair, brushed your teeth, and washed your face. Afterwards, you went into the living room to see who Allie was talking to but as soon as you started walking in, she hung up.
"Who was that?" You asked still groggy
"Oh it was just the girls, we were talking about Thursday" Allie said and gave you a smile that made you very suspicious it you ignored it
"Well I think I'm gonna make pancakes and bacon, want some?" Allie asked and stood up from the sofa
"Of course" you said
You sat on the couch while Allie made breakfast and just scrolled through instagram. While you were looking at some edits of you and Jack, you received a text. You looked at the text and saw that it was Jack.
J: Good morning Beautiful❤️ what time do you want to talk to the police about everything?
M: Good Morning ❤️ we can meet around lunch time and call them and see what they want to do
J: okay sounds good, I'll see you later! I love youuuu❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
M: I love you toooooooo❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You waited on the couch and Allie eventually finished breakfast. Y'all sat at the table and ate breakfast and you told Allie about your plans. She said they sounded good and she said she was hanging out with Sam for the day. After y'all ate, you went to your room and got dressed. You didn't want to look like a slob while talking to the police, so you put on some jeans and a nice shirt and some Birkenstocks. You did your everyday makeup and kept your hair naturally wavy. You checked the time and it was 11:45. You grabbed your bag and drove to meet Jack. You decided to meet at his house so you could make the phone call in a quiet place (as long as the boys aren't around.) You arrived at his house and knocked on the door to be welcomed by Jack.
"Hey beautiful" Jack said and gave you a kiss "Hey babe" You replied and kissed back "we can just go to the backyard to call them so the boys won't be bothering us" Jack said and you agreed and followed him to the back.
You sat down beside Jack and dialed the number. You made sure they knew it was not an emergency and then you talked to them about the situation and they said they would send someone out to talk to you and Jack about it and maybe they could help. You and Jack both agreed, so you told them the address and hung up. You and Jack went back into the house and told the boys that there was going to be a cop coming over, so they said they would act good and not interfere. You and Jack sat in the kitchen at the bar and waited for the cop to show up.
"I don't know why but for some reason I'm really nervous about this" you said "Theres nothing to worry about, we have to clear our name somehow and this is our best option. We've tried everything else, we had no other options" Jack said trying to comfort you. "But do you think we did it at the right time? What if we should have waited?" "I promise you, we did the right thing. Just take a deep breath" Jack reassured and you listed to what he said and took a deep breath and then he gave you a big hug "I love you Maddie Herron" Jack said "I love you too Jack" You replied and looked up and y'all kissed
A few minutes later, you heard a knock on the door and knew it was the cops you and Jack both went to answer it. You opened the door and welcomed him into the house. Y'all decided the best place to talk was outside, so you and Jack led the officer outside and you and Jack sat beside each other and the officer sat in his own chair.
"So Ms. Herron and Mr. Avery can you give me a quick summary of what has been going on with this Chloe girl just so I can get a good understanding?" The officer asked and you and Jack did as he asked and explained everything to him. He took notes as y'all talked. It took you about 10 minutes to explain everything to him. You mentioned that you had texts and a recording of her and he asked to see them. You and jack pulled out your phones and showed the officer and he watched and read.
