Chapter 24

Chaeyoung sat between Tzuyu and Mina as they were waiting for Sana to buy tickets and popcorn; yes, they were now going to watch a movie since they're inside the mall, why would anyone slip the chance to watch a comedy movie together with new friends? Also, maybe Chaeyoung can get some ideas from the movie or what.

Tzuyu groaned, "what's taking Sana too long?"

Chaeyoung shrugged, she didn't answer but seeing how Tzuyu stood up, she also did and saw Sana hugging two bags of popcorn and two tickets in between her fingers, Chaeyoung wanted to help but Tzuyu got to Sana first.

"Why only two tickets?" Mina asked once she saw the tickets on Sana's fingers.

Sana panted, "the cashier told me that there are only two couple seats available for this cinema." She then gave Chaeyoung the bag of popcorn and Mina the ticket.

"So, let's go!" Sana said and clung her arm around Tzuyu again which made the latter smirk, the two chatted as if they were planning something ridiculous.

Chaeyoung stared at the ticket and so did Mina.

"So?" Chaeyoung started.

"So.." Mina echoed once Chaeyoung didn't finish.

"Should we go?" Chaeyoung asked awkwardly.

Mina hummed, "it's such a disappointment if we won't see the movie. So, come on!" Mina said and walked ahead, leaving Chaeyoung dumbfounded but still, she walked towards where Mina was going.

The two entered the cinema and sat beside each other, but Chaeyoung can't help but notice how much empty seats there were, she looked ahead and there sat Tzuyu and Sana who had there heads turned towards them. Chaeyoung knew what they did and facepalmed herself which made the pair laugh.

"What's wrong?" Mina asked curiously.

"What?" Chaeyoung asked back.

Mina shrugged, "you facepalmed." She then sat in silence, "perhaps you don't want to sit beside me?"

Chaeyoung stared at Mina, she looked into those sad orbs once again and heard the familiar tune of the latter's voice. Her voice tensed, "what? No, I just remembered that.. I didn't lock my studio." Chaeyoung excused and crossed her fingers, hoping for Mina to believe.

But Mina did and nodded slowly, she grabbed the popcorn bag from Chaeyoung's arms and opened it before grabbing one piece with her delicate fingers.

Chaeyoung tried to watch the movie but the vixen beside her made her unable to do so. Instead, she listened to her heartbeat whenever Mina's hand would try to search for the popcorn bag but end up touching Chaeyoung's arm, she wasn't ready for this kind of emotion and never will she get tired of it. The feeling is new to her but somehow, she doesn't feel in danger and instead, she feels as if she's sleeping on cloud 9. Though the movie was really funny, Chaeyoung could only hear the small laughs Mina was producing amidst the loud laughs from other people, it was like her ears were made for hearing Mina's soft voice. The soft sounds made her heart beat faster and she wanted to hear more.

But when the movie ended, Chaeyoung could see how disappointed Mina was with the ending, sure Chaeyoung was taking in Mina's every actions but she still had her 1/4 of attention on the movie, she still witnessed how funny it was but she focused more on Mina.

"Why do you look disappointed?" Chaeyoung asked and took a popcorn.

Mina sighed, "it was a cliffhanger, really. I don't like cliffhangers."

Chaeyoung laughed at how cute Mina sounded, the latter was laughing softly earlier but then she's disappointed it ended.

"Cheer up, maybe next year there's a sequel." Chaeyoung hummed in hopes of cheering Mina up.

They got out of the cinema and saw Sana and Tzuyu were already there, they held two cards and they gave each to Mina and Chaeyoung.

"We're going to the arcade, those cards are black cards! Which means you can play anything you want without having to worry about your credit." Tzuyu explained.

Chaeyoung grinned, "you sounded like you were sponsoring the card." She joked and walked towards the arcade. Sure, she's a bit cold on the outside but that doesn't mean she doesn't like arcades. In fact, she loves this heavenly spot inside the mall.

Sana and Tzuyu were together as they played the small hockey game, Chaeyoung was playing the drums while Mina just played in claw machines, trying to get the prizes that she wants. Chaeyoung felt tired playing music and she wanted something new, she saw the basketball ring and was about to go there but then saw Mina groaning everytime the claw would let go of the prize; it was a penguin headband.

Chaeyoung watched as how entertaining Mina was struggling to get the prize but then she decided to let go of it and sat on the couch, sighing as if she lost a battle. Little did she know, Chaeyoung was just watching from afar and is now walking towards the claw machine. Chaeyoung knew that she'll get this prize in no time and she did, it was all because Jungkook taught her how to hack the machine. She used a magnet, of course. It was a dirty trick but Chaeyoung wanted to see if she can bring a smile to Mina's face.

Once she got the prize, Mina's back was turned to her, she was now contemplating whether she'll play the racing game. Chaeyoung had an idea. She slipped the penguin headband on Mina's head and Mina was startled, she turned her head around and saw Chaeyoung smiling at her, she used her hands to feel what Chaeyoung put on her and realized that it was the penguin headband.

"I noticed you were struggling and so I helped." Chaeyoung said and scrunched her nose which Mina saw as cute.

Mina blushed a little and smiled slightly at Chaeyoung's sweetness, even if it's just for a friend. "Th-thank you."

Chaeyoung hummed, "you're certainly welcome, penguin." She giggled once Mina blushed more at the mention of 'penguin'

"So you love penguins, huh."

Mina nodded, "they're cute. So what." She answered and then proceeded to play the racing game.

Chaeyoung laughed, she stared at the girl who was focused on winning the racing game which she did but she went another round. She watched how Mina's lips turn into a small smirk whenever she would win, how her eyes focused on the monitor. Chaeyoung decided to sit on the couch in the middle of the arcade and left Mina to play. She watched as the couples were sweet towards each other and she saw Mina again, that was when a lightbulb suddenly flashed on top of Chaeyoung's head.

She brought her phone out and started to type out lyrics, once she was done she looked at Mina and she smiled widely as the latter was staring back at her, her brown orbs staring back at Chaeyoung and for once again, Chaeyoung couldn't see any hint of sadness. It was lovely. As her fingers memorized the keyboard of her phone, she quickly typed in the title of her song.

Chaeyoung then pocketed her phone again and approached Mina, "where to?" She asked.

Mina sat down beside Chaeyoung which made the latter sit back.

"To you."
