Chapter 36

Taehyung and Jin walked back inside Chaeyoung's room. But he was surprised to see no one lying on Chaeyoung's bed, he roamed his eyes and didn't see the girl. He balled his fists.

"Where is Chaeyoung?" He asked.

Irene approached him, "she went with Mina to check her condition. If it's true that she has something else other than asthma."

Taehyung's veins in his fists were popping, his eyes turned sharp almost as if it can kill anyone with his gaze.

He gritted his teeth, "why would you allow that?! I told her she's forbidden to see that girl anymore!"

"And what, Taehyung? Just act dumb that what she feels ain't more than asthma?" Namjoon asked him.

Taehyung faced him and scoffed, "that's better. Just make her stay away from Mina but shit, you didn't listen to me!"

"Is there something bad that's going to happen if Chaeyoung is around Mina?! What do you know?!" Irene yelled at him.

Taehyung now faced her and pinned her to the wall, gritting his teeth as Jin and Jungkook tried to pull Taehyung from her. Taehyung gripped Irene's shoulders, tightening his grip which made the girl whimper in pain.

"If Chaeyoung falls in love for Mina again, all of us. All of us who is close with Chaeyoung will suffer." Taehyung gritted his teeth but his grip loosened, slowly his tears started to flow again, "espescially Chaeyoung herself will suffer. Mina will be killed, Chaeyoung will get her heart broken once she learns that Mina is dead, all of us will suffer from loss."

"But why do you know that?! What else do you know?!" Irene asked him out loud.

Taehyung fell to his knees and cried, "all of this is my fault.. if I didn't meet Chaeyoung-- if I just didn't go to the rooftop I won't meet her!"

"And what? If you didn't go to the rooftop Chaeyoung would've killed herself by falling from the rooftop of this very hospital?" Jungkook, for the first time, opened his mouth. Tears were also running from his eyes, seeing his lover so helpless and hopeless made him emotional. Not to mention, he also treats Chaeyoung as his very own sister-in-law, and they're very close. "Jagi, if you didn't meet Chaeyoung, the campus won't have Chaengcasso, the campus won't have someone as talented as her, we won't have our little sister. She'd be under 6 feet if you didn't meet her that night."

"Also, Mina won't feel happy like she does right now. She won't feel contented with her life." Namjoon added, Taehyung looked at him in disbelief, "Taehyung, love is an emotion which you can't control. If you can, will you still love Jungkook even if you have the same gender? Our society disapproves of homosexual relationships but you kept on loving him because you do, right? That's the same for Mina and Chaeyoung," Namjoon smiled for a while, his dimple showing, "their connection is too deep for us to understand but whenever they stare at each other we can see how much they love each other."

Jin chuckles, "you don't know Mina that much but I'm a witness, Mina doesn't smile too much. If she does, it's a fake smile."

Taehyung shakes his head, "but Chaeyoung and Mina can't be together.. they just can't."

"What's the reason they can't?"

Taehyung punched the floor, "I already said the reason!"

Namjoon squats on the floor and caressed Taehyung's back, "if we told you you're not allowed to meet with Jungkook anymore, how will you react?" He asked.

Taehyung stopped and stared at his lover, Jungkook. They both stared at each other, Taehyung's orbs were sparkling with sadness as he was imagining his life without Jungkook. Soon, his tears started to flow again, his eyes were beginning to get reddish until Jungkook looks away. Taehyung looks back at Namjoon and sighs.

Namjoon nods, "exactly. That's what Chaeyoung will feel. Espescially if it came from you, she will feel distant from you and feel emptiness that she feels crumbling and dying. You have to understand her."

"But you have to understand the situation! Mina is going to die if Chaeyoung chooses her instead of-" Taehyung stops and his eyes widen once he realizes what he was about to say.

"Choose her instead of who?" Irene asked.

Taehyung felt all the eyes on him, he stared at the floor, "if Chaeyoung chooses Mina instead of.. Eunji.." he tells the truth but no one was surprised.

After all, Irene and Jungkook basically got the backstory of Mina and Eunji's sister quarrel.

"Eunji liked Chaeyoung when they were still young, but Mina got Chaeyoung's attention first. The two of them had feelings for each other resulting to Eunji being alone in the corner, watching them fall for each other and when something happened to her, Eunji decided it was time to claim Chaeyoung, to get Chaeyoung from Mina." Taehyung explained.

"But through the violent way." Namjoon added, which Taehyung nodded at.

"I'm not quite sure.. I met Chaeyoung on the rooftop but then when Eunji found out we knew each other, she told me to take care of Chaeyoung which I gladly obeyed since I see Chae as my own little sister." Taehyung breathes heavily, "Eunji also threatened me that she'll do this and that to me if I don't take care of Chaeyoung. There were times that Chaeyoung and Mina were supposed to meet but because of me, and Eunji's orders, I did everything to keep them apart and never meet each other."

Taehyung smiles suddenly, "but I guess they were really destined to meet each other again no matter what I do, they always seem to find other ways to suddenly stumble upon each other. It was like watching destiny work on their story."

He sits on the floor comfortably, "by the time, I accepted that Chaeyoung and Mina will meet eventually. And little by little, I witnessed how Chaeyoung absentmindedly took steps closer towards Mina who was like waiting for her."

"But I just can't let them be." Taehyung's tone changed, his smile disappeared in an instant and his serious aura appeared again, "if I do.. Eunji will surely hire someone to kill Mina. And it'll be worse if I'm the one she hires to kill Mina just because Chaeyoung fell for her again."

"Once Mina dies, I can imagine how much grief Chaeyoung would feel and knowing her, she'll come back to being the suicidal kid. Espescially now that she knows she has a very dangerous disease, she'll do bad things to her health to slowly kill herself."

Namjoon nods, "but that is easy to stop."

"What do you mean?" Irene asked him. Behind all of them, Jin was just watching.

"It's easy to prevent. It's easier if Eunji hires Taehyung to kill Mina. We can easily prevent someone from killing Mina," Namjoon pauses, "But that would mean putting Eunji in jail."

Irene nodded, "true. But it's worth it, right? Putting Eunji in jail, Mina and Chaeyoung will fall in love with each other without anymore obstacles."

Taehyung shook his head, "but it's not easy to predict Eunji. We don't even know whether she already has a plan or not." He pauses, "espescially once Chaeyoung learns all of Eunji's secrets, everything will be laid in front of us."

Irene snapped her fingers, "that's it! Eunji likes Chaeyoung, right? Then it's predictable and obvious that she's also Eunji's weakness."

Namjoon hummed, "explain."

Irene smiled, "for example, Chaeyoung learns Eunji's secrets. All the plans she planned will be ruined the moment Chaeyoung learns all of it. Eunji will be ashamed of herself and eventually she'll snap back to reality of how much she's become insane just for Chaeyoung. Imagine, killing your sister just because you like the same girl."

Taehyung shook his head, "as I said, Eunji is hard to predict."

Irene hums, "but you can't say that if you don't try."

Namjoon stares at Jin at the back who smiled at them. His smile was meaningful and it seemed like he knew something. And that was when Jin decided to speak.

"I have just the right information for all of you."
