Three weeks have already passed since Chaeyoung's operation, it was successful but all of them knew that the higher chances were that Chaeyoung would fall into a coma. All of them knew, but no one expected it, they all believed that it will all end with Chaeyoung's operation.
Their lives went back to normal, to say the least. Taehyung is back with making his art with Jimin, Jungkook is still busy choreographing a new dance for his project, Dahyun is still making bops, Namjoon is back with his activities as the school president with Jin. All of them were back in the University.
Mina is the only one who can visit Chaeyoung in this time since they were all busy, the work that they neglected came running to them and they all had to catch up. Staring at Chaeyoung, Mina's hands were touching the glass window that were separating the two of them. There were bunch of wires attached to her and it pains Mina to see her girlfriend in this state.
Eunji was nowhere to be seen, she has been MIA after Mina talked to her three weeks ago. But there were no signs of her plotting Mina's death or anything that can harm them, the Director was said to be in a vacation, but Mina still had doubts regarding Eunji's lost of contact.
Sometimes, Mina would go inside Chaeyoung's room to wipe her with a towel, Sana gave her the permission to.
Mina didn't want to lose hope, staring at her girlfriend's sleeping body was just getting into her head. After all these years that Mina had been without Chaeyoung, she's not about to witness the girl die. There had been sleepless nights, coffee is Mina's new bestfriend considering that she owns a coffee shop.
Speaking of her coffee shop, Sharon's, Jihyo is the one managing the shop and it was Minji who built and planned that place. It was soon put into Mina's properties when Minji died and since then, she has been taking care of it for her sister.
Mina was itching to go inside the room, she had the spare keys to the door but she didn't want to do something wrong that can harm Chaeyoung. Honestly speaking, she isn't educated in Medicine but she's helping Eunji with managing the hospital, minus the medicine and acting doctor part.
Mina sighs and let Chaeyoung be, she still needs to rest. So she sat on one the of metal chairs attached to the wall, it was cold, but Mina didn't mind. She wanted to be by Chaeyoung's side when she opens her eyes again. Hopefully, soon.
—
While all of that were happening, on the other side, Chaeyoung woke up inside an empty white room. It was white, but it looked gray by the dim lit lights on the wall. She was the only in there, sitting on the bed.
Chaeyoung got off of the bed and started to walk around the room, there were no doors, no windows. It was suffocating for anyone but for some reason, Chaeyoung felt at home. Footsteps were heard from outside and that's when a rectangle box opened from the wall and acted as a door.
The man who opened the door startled Chaeyoung, it was the man who she thought she would never see again.
"Jeong-Hoon!" Chaeyoung exclaimed and couldn't believe it.
Jeong-Hoon ran to her and hugged her tightly, "Chaeyoung," he breathed out and his hug tightened, as if he didn't want to let go of Chaeyoung. "I missed you."
Chaeyoung blinked, not even returning the hug.
Am I dead? The only thought that was running through her mind right now. Speaking of dead, she did wake up inside an empty white room, so that was hint number one.
"How? How am I seeing you, I.. Am I dead?" Chaeyoung stuttered.
Jeong-Hoon pulled away from the hug and caressed Chaeyoung's face, not answering her. "I just really missed you." He smiles and grabs Chaeyoung's wrist before pulling her. "Come with me!"
They went out of the room and outside was brighter, they were in a garden. It seemed familiar, in the middle there was a white elegant table with four chairs, one was occupied by her.. mother, sipping a tea.
Her mom's head turned to their direction and her gaze softened, "Chaeyoung-ah," she called and immediately stood up to approach her daughter. But Chaeyoung flinched and backed away from her.
Her mother's eyes were glossy by the tears, filled with sadness and guilt. She was sad because her daughter was scared of her by the beatings that she received and the hateful words that she heard from her, and guilty because her daughter should've felt safe with her.
"I.." She starts and glances at her son, Jeong-Hoon, who shook his head sternly. Her mother nods in understandment, "have- have a seat." She gestured towards the white chair across hers.
Chaeyoung sat on the white chair and Jeong-Hoon pulled a chair beside her and sat there, holding her hand to let her feel safe.
"Chaeyoung-ah," It feels so right to hear her mother calling her name with such tender and gentleness, Chaeyoung wanted to cry. Her mother was wearing a white dress, matching Jeong-Hoon's white suit.
"I'm sorry," Her mother begins and lets the tear fall from her eyes. "I.. I know you won't forgive me-"
"You don't have to apologize." Chaeyoung cried, tears were also spilling from her eyes and she looked at Jeong-Hoon before looking back at her mother, "can I hug you?"
Her mother was shocked by her request, she nodded vigorously before standing up to hug Chaeyoung over the table. Her mother broke from the hug before pulling her gently in an open space and hugged her tighter, Jeong-Hoon joined the hug.
Chaeyoung has never ever felt complete in her whole life, but she still felt like something was missing. There were four chairs and they were the only ones in there. She closes her eyes to remember the person that was missing, surely it wasn't her father since that old man was still alive but they just lost contact.
But when she opened her eyes and saw her mother and brother, she forgot everything. She wanted to stay here, she didn't want to go somewhere else because she feels happy in here.
She wants to stay here, and that's all what matters to Chaeyoung right now.
—
Mina woke up, she dreamt of Chaeyoung's back facing her and refusing to look at her. Chaeyoung was strange in her dream, she was staring at the window and outside of the window was a beautiful garden, it was as if Chaeyoung wanted to go there.
For some reason, Mina felt like pulling Chaeyoung but the girl didn't budge. She just kept staring at the window.
Mina approached the glass window and saw a small smile on Chaeyoung's face, it made her heartbeat race, not because of how angelic her smile was, but because she was smiling eerily, she wasn't supposed to be moving.
So there must be a sign that Chaeyoung might be waking up soon since there were signs of small movements, this gave Mina much more hope.
