Chapter 37

Mina and Chaeyoung were still inside their own world, they walked back inside the hospital and inside Mina's office. Chaeyoung could literally smell the jasmine scent inside of her office and it's addicting.

Then Mina sat on her swivel chair and gestured Chaeyoung to sit wherever she wants to sit.

"Can I sit on your lap then?" Chaeyoung grinned at Mina who stared at her in disbelief. And then she raised her hands, "okay I was just joking, jeez."

Mina shook her head, "you need to stop joking like that, it's making my heart nervous." She whispered and thankfully, Chaeyoung didn't hear it.

Chaeyoung saw a chair by the window and dragged it towards Mina's table, she sat on the opposite side while Mina was typing something on her computer.

"Say, you're not a doctor, you're not a director, what are you?" Chaeyoung asked.

Mina hummed, "is this some kind of riddle?"

Chaeyoung shook her head, "I really want to know."

Mina nodded, "well, in the beginning, it was only Minji who has the right to inherit the hospital since she developed a liking towards medicine and the three of us had different passions."

Chaeyoung nodded and Mina continued, "but when Minji died, it was only Eunji and I and seeing that I'm older, they wanted me to be the one to inherit the hospital but since Eunji was closest to Minji, I plead to father to let Eunji inherit. Which he gladly obeyed but my grandfather-- sofu told me to work inside the hospital."

Chaeyoung nodded, "is that 'sofu' of yours the antagonist of your life?"

Mina furrowed her eyebrows, "what? What does that even mean?"

Chaeyoung hummed, "you know, the one who ruins your life."

Mina stares at her with her thin stare and slowly shakes her head before smiling, "I am my own antagonist."

Chaeyoung stared at her, trying to guess what she meant.

"Oh by the way, when will I hear your story?" Chaeyoung eagerly asked.

"I'm still busy, maybe in a few days." Mina hummed. Then she noticed Chaeyoung's silence and looked at the girl to see her staring at one corner.

Mina sighed, "I promise. I'll tell you soon."

"But why not right now?" Chaeyoung whined.

"Chaengie, time is important."

"I don't understand and I don't want to understand." Chaeyoung stubbornly huffed.

Mina smiled, "it means you should know when the time is right for other things. For now, let's just be normal people again."

"Normal people? What were we? Aliens?" Chaeyoung sarcastically replied.

But Mina just hummed, "think whatever you want to think." And started to type again.

Chaeyoung felt really small. Words from Mina can actually order her, can actually enslave her and it scares her to death that she finally found someone who can make her feel this way. It scares her but the feeling makes her more excited to be around Mina. It confuses her so much but she thinks it's better if she doesn't know what this is.. yet.

As Namjoon said, love is an uncontrollable emotion and it's unbelievable how it can make someone insane as Eunji and innocent as Mina. Eunji blames Mina for everything bad that happens to her while Mina does the same, she blames herself that she's living like this. She blames herself for every action that she takes.

Mina sighed and stopped typing, she looked at Chaeyoung who was entertaining herself with her thoughts. Her lips were struggling to keep shut but she managed to keep quiet. She knows how much it will destroy Chaeyoung once she knows the truth. But as Mina predicts, secrets will soon be revealed one by one and little by little it will destory the both of them. But Mina wants this to end already. She needs to end it.

Then, Mina stood up and grabbed Chaeyoung's hand, Chaeyoung looked up at Mina with such an innocent gaze which made Mina back out from telling her the truth.

"I..I just remembered, your friends are waiting for you, right?" Mina averted her gaze and bit her lip.

Chaeyoung suddenly stood up, "oh yeah! I need to go, they're maybe worried about me."

Mina nodded, "I understand, I'll walk you there." And they both walked out of Mina's office, and walked towards Chaeyoung's room.

Mina sighed internally, holding Chaeyoung's hands made her feel more guilty yet it makes her feel secure. She blames herself for being such a coward, hiding all these secrets from Chaeyoung.
