Chapter 43

[Flashback]

Mina was reading a book peacefully when someone knocked on the door, she looked up and Minji peeking.

"What is it?" Mina asks, her small voice echoing in the quiet room.

Minji walks inside and closes the door, she smiles towards Mina.

"Nana, d-do you know Chaeyoung?"

Mina shakes her head and looks confused.

"Rina.. do you know her?"

Upon hearing the name, Mina's face automatically lights up and she smiles. "Yes." She answers quietly.

"They're the same person." Minji says shortly, making Mina's eyes soften.

"Yes.. I do know that, Jiji."

Minji approached Mina and sat beside her on the bed, hugging the pillow.

"Can you do Jiji a favor?" Minji asks, she looks at Mina.

"You know I always do you a favor, what's different from now?" Mina chuckles.

"Can we switch again? For a whole month?" Minji fiddles with her fingers.

Mina stared at Minji with confused eyes, she was about to say no but when Minji met her eyes, she immediately softened. How could she say no to her sister? If there's someone that Mina is extremely weak for, it's her sister. She'll do anything that Minji will tell her to do, because she loves her sister like that.

"I..I like her." Minji quietly confesses, a blush forming on her cheeks. "And.. I was too shy to approach her and saw you talk to her first.."

Mina grips the book she was reading, "Sure."

Minji looks at her, taken aback with her answer.

"Switch. Let's switch, Jiji." Mina smiles at her but Mina felt like her heart was breaking.

Minji hugged her tightly and skipped out of her room, singing a happy song. Mina can only stare at her, she shuts the book and she walks towards her closet.

She grabs the clothes that Minji left there for whenever they would switch, assuming that Minji already changed her clothes, she also did. Mina was now Minji, she had to act like Minji.

But Mina didn't want to be Minji, because she also likes Rina—Chaeyoung. But what can she do? Nothing, she only had to let go of Chaeyoung and let her sister be happy with whatever she wants. Seeing Minji smiling is like bringing Mina happiness but why is she frowning right now? Why is Mina feeling down? She doesn't like the idea of them switching right now.

Mina walks outside her room and goes to Minji's room, then passing Eunji's room. Mina stops when she sees Eunji staring at the window. She approaches.

"Why is my little Eun sad?" She used the precious nickname that she would often hear Minji call Eunji.

"Because Nana is playing with Rina.." Eunji frowned.

Mina looks out the window and sees Minji, wearing her clothes and happily playing with Chaeyoung in the sandbox. She manages a small smile.

"Aw, that's fine, I can play with you!" Mina offers.

"Shiro! I want Rina!" Eunji stomped her foot.

Mina acted hurt, "you don't want to play with Jiji? But I'll play with you forever! I'll be your playmate! I promise! But.. Eun doesn't want to.."

When Eunji heard this, she immediately hugged Mina and repeated saying sorry. Mina chuckled at the cute action. She hugged Eunji back.

"Let's play here on our own, okay?" Mina says and stares at Eunji.
