Chapter 33

Mina was sitting on a swing outside the hospital, this playground wasn't far and she enjoys her free time around some places that she feels nostalgic. She stares at the sandbox and she feels her heart beating quickly, she feels as if she wants to see someone in that sandbox. She halts the swing and just sit there, she stares at the sun above.

Why do I feel so sad?

Everytime Mina would visit a playground, instead of happiness, she feels nothing but sorrow. She feels like the playground is a special place for her but she can't seem to point her finger on why it is because all it does is make her tear up. She doesn't even remember playing in a playground. All she remembers is Rina and nothing more but a name and a little girl. Today, she wore the penguin necklace and actually felt really safe upon feeling the metal lace loosely hanging around her neck. She feels at ease. She closes her eyes and swing again.

"What if suddenly you forget about me and remember my twins?"

She stops the swing by her foot and opens her eyes, she hears her own voice when she was still a little girl. When she was young, she always believed that the three of them were twins. When the truth was, it was only Minji who her twin was.

How she hated her father for Eunji. It's not that she hates Eunji but she hates how much hardships that Eunji and her mom went through just because Mina's father cheated with Eunji's mother. She only understood their complicated family when she was 14 years old. Their father, Akira, met two girls who shared the same face, they were twins and Akira married one of them who was Misaka, when the night came, Akira went home drunk and because of how drunk he was, he had sexual intercourse with Misaka. And when they were done, he thought Mizuki was Misaka and he raped her, thinking she was his wife.

After months, Misaka and Mizuki were confirmed to be pregnant and that was when Akira realized what he did that night. He confessed to the two and they agreed that Akira would be the father of the children in their womb. 5 more months later and that was when Misaka gave birth to Mina who was out first, later on, the doctor announced that there was another baby coming and it took them an hour to get Minji out of her womb. Mina was born on 11:52 pm of March 24th while Minji was born on 12:43 of March 25th.

After Misaka gave birth to Mina and Minji, it was then Mizuki also felt like giving birth the day after Minji was born. She labored for 5 hours before Eunji was born on 3:38 pm of March 26th. After Eunji was born, Misaka made Mizuki live in hell, she would order her twin around and when she disobeys, she makes Mizuki feel guilty about having a child with Akira.

As for the three, they were told that they were triplets because of how identical they were to each other and they always believed that they were triplets. The three always bonded together and mixed their names together and came up with EunJiNa, wherever they went, they were always together. Until one day, Mina went home and she was suddenly locked inside her room for two years without her twins and that brought her to live independent at such a young age and she went distant from her twins. Mina and Eunji would always fight and that's when Minji would get in between and make them be friendly towards each other again. That's why Minji said that her name was a combination of their names and she was born to always stop them from fighting. It was an inside joke between the three of them.

Mina smiled when she remembered Minji. She remembers how Minji would always pick red dresses for herself and wear it everyday like royalty. But she also remembered how Eunji was always with Minji. She's sad that Eunji and her don't have a good relationship as twins and she's angry at herself for not remembering what happened 18 years ago. She feels incomplete that she doesn't. Mina knows that Eunji knows something but she can't approach her twin without being ignored and treated like no one but a doctor who works under her.

Mina stared at her legs, she's unable to do ballet anymore that's why she became a doctor who works for her grandfather's hospital. She remembered when the three of them planned out their futures. They all imagined it in their heads. Mina was a Ballerina whom everyone loved to see dancing on-stage, Minji was a Physiatrist who specializes in treating neck, back pain or spinal cord injuries while Eunji was an Architect who designs the stages that Mina would dance on, designs the new buildings for Akira Hospital. They all had their dreams which supported each other's dreams. But one by one, those dreams were shattered when Minji died, when Mina lost the capability of her legs and when Eunji lost her mind because of her hatred towards Mina. Eunji always believed herself, she believed that Mina killed Minji and that's why she started to take up ballet in K-Multi-Arts University when it should be Mina who is in her position.

Mina smiled weakly when she remembered all of that. She knows that Eunji takes ballet classes and she's actually proud that her twin can dance elegantly like she used to. She was very happy that Eunji was progressing with something other than being the Director of the Hospital.

She finally stood up and approached the sandbox, her curiousity was on top of her head and she just wanted to know if anything would happen if she walks closer towards the sandbox.

But I don't remember anything.

Mina sighs, it's hopeless for her now. She decided to go back to the Hospital. She doesn't specialize in any medicine, she's just there to learn about everything about medicine, except for Dr. Shin who flirts with everyone.

And when she arrived at the Hospital, she sees Eunji running around the hallways and behind her was someone who's familiar to her. She furrows her eyebrows at the scene and follows Eunji's direction, she watches the man's back and she just shrugged and decided to leave it alone. She had more duties to tend to.
