Alyssa's POV
Cameron shook me lightly, making my eyes flutter open. I looked over to where Dalton should've been. I shot up in panic when I saw an empty sleeping bag, slamming my head against Cameron's. We both groaned in pain as we rubbed our foreheads.
"Sorry," I mumbled.
"Don't be. What's wrong?" He asked, his hands rubbing my arms comfortingly.
"Dalton's missing. Have you seen him this morning?"
"No, but I'm sure he's fine. He's probably just out doing his daily swim. He was here when we went to bed, so there's no reason to stress, right?"
"Maybe, but last night we couldn't sleep so we went outside to talk things out and he didn't come in when I did. Plus, he was talking about handing himself over to them. What if he did?"
"We talked him out of it, remember? Besides, he's not stupid enough to actually do it."
"He seemed pretty strong on it last night. I just need to check."
Dalton? Where are you?
Huh? Oh, um, I'll be back soon, okay? Even through mind messaging, I could hear that he had just woken up.
What stupid thing did you do? Did you hand yourself over?
Sort of. I'll explain when I get back, okay?
Fine, just get back soon.
I will.
"So, is he okay?" Cameron asked.
"I'm not sure. He said he would explain when he gets back, which he promised would be soon."
"Okay, then we wake everyone else up and we wait." He stood up and I climbed out of my sleeping bag. "I'll get the guys up. You handle down here."
"That seems a little unfair. There are more people down here."
"Yeah, but I have to wake Thomas up."
"Fair point." Cameron went upstairs while I started waking my mom up. "Mom?" I lightly shook her with no response. "Mom?" I shook her a little harder with no change. "Wow, she is definitely my mom." I chuckled before violently shaking her in an attempt to wake the dead.
Finally, she woke up. "Okay, okay. I'm awake."
I stopped shaking. "Sorry. I tried shaking you lightly, but nothing worked."
She chuckled. "Yeah, I'm kind of a heavy sleeper."
"Me too. I once slept through a tornado, like with the sirens and everything else going on."
"You are definitely my kid." We both laughed.
"Will you help me wake up everyone else?" I stood up and went over to Max.
"Sure." She got up and went to where Maddy was sleeping. Everyone else woke up easily and soon, the boys joined us downstairs.
"I'll go get my mom and sister." I started making my way to the stairs.
"Wait, where's Dalton?" Max asked.
"I'll explain in a minute, once everyone's up." I ran upstairs and quickly woke up my mom and sister. Once we were all downstairs, I took a deep breath before speaking. "So, I'm not sure where Dalton is. He said he kind of turned himself over to the mermen, but he said he'd explain when he gets back, which should be soon. So, now we wait." Dalton walked in, making us all look. "Or not." I ran over to him, wrapping my arms around my brother. "You're okay."
