Chapter Fourteen - Why'd You Do It?

Zuri's P.O.V

After a few long months of being with Avery, after meeting his family an' friends, us both having sex an' me staying in Atlanta with him, I felt a bit refreshed.

I could feel a change in my heart with the way I showed him I cared.

Its been over a week since I've been over here longer than I should've but I made the best of it all. Avery refused to let me go but we both knew I'd have to leave eventually. Although I was happy about staying a few days longer, I missed being back home - Most importantly I missed Vanessa.

Me being home with Avery all he's been doing was smiling lately.

That's until we go outdoors an' around the guys he hung around. He was always so sweet with me but seemed to be so heartless when around others.

Today we were finally going to be able to get Mama Samantha out the hospital so I knew he was beyond excited.

Instead of him letting her stay at his Gramma's house, not wanting to add anymore stress onto her we both decided on letting her stay with him just so we could both take care of her.

I could not wait - I loved that sweet little lady.

Watching as he finally pulled up into the hospital's parking lot excitement filled both our faces.

"You ready for this?" I questioned him as he smiled.

"Yeahh, I'm happy she can finally get out this place an' come home with us."

"I'm here for you both baby." I sent a warm smile his way. "But lets not forget about that talk we had earlier - Eventually I'm gonna have to head back home."

Making our way out from the car an' into the hospital I held onto Avery's hand as we were all greeted by workers, making our way directly into Samantha's room.

I smiled as we both watched as she sat up all ready to go.

These past few months she'd been doing really good, she'd finally gotten her strength back an' couldn't look anymore beautiful.

"Hey my two babies." Her smile grew from ear to ear while bringing us both into a hug.

"Hey Mama - How you doing?" I watched as Avery placed a kiss against her forehead.

"I'm doing good baby."

"I can see that." I brought her into one last hug. "You look beautiful Samantha."

"Awe, so do you." She smiled. "Someone's glowing." She looked up at both Avery an' I.

"Avery sure is." I agreed.

She laughed a little at my response. "Not Avery honey - I'm talking about you." She gently placed her hand against my stomach while rubbing it.

"I'm not pregnant." I assured her.

The most I'd put on was at least ten pounds, which was nothing much. It was all because of Avery feeding me all the damn time.

Focusing my attention towards Avery it looked as though the topic wasn't bothering him one bit. Like he wasn't phased one bit.

"Baby I know when someone's pregnant." She continued smiling.

"Ma you ready?" Avery questioned noticing my change of mood. "I already signed the released forms I'm just waiting on you now."

"I'm ready." She slowly made her way on up with my help. "Ave?"

"Yeah mama?"

"Before we head home I think maybe you two should go ahead an' purchase a pregnancy test." She whispered to him but it was still loud enough for me to hear.
