- Six Months Later -

Zuri's P.O.V

Waking up this morning looking down at my swollen feet as my back painfully ached I sighed out loud.

I was now a week an' nine months pregnant an' had swollen up bigger than a fully developed whale.

After moving away from my old condo I hadn't communicated with Nessa since. I've tried contacting her over a million times but got nothing.

Some friend right.

The one person who I thought would've definitely be there for me wasn't. She lied - After moving away she completely removed me from out of her life.

It definitely hurt like hell but being so use to people walking out of my life it was nothing.

Vanessa was the least of my worries honestly, but she played a part.

I'd been trying my best with contacting Avery for the past seven months straight - Calling him from I woke up until I fell asleep.

After finally deciding on just changing my number an' starting over a month ago I couldn't have felt any better.

I was about to have this man's baby an' he knew nothing of it all because I lied. But now after being ignored an' abandoned for months upon months I grew to hate him.

Although he thought I'd lost our child, I was still saddened over the fact that he decided on moving on without me an' so sudden.

"You ready?" I got up from bed focusing all of my attention towards Bryson.

Bryson an' I were just friends but would always be mistaken for something more especially considering him being much older than me.

Much older.

He was twenty eight an' such a sweet heart - But nothing like Avery.

He was more of a gentleman rather than a thug an' worked an actual nine to five.

We both met at one of the nearby banks that was located a few blocks away from my new condo. He made sure I saved an' even helped me with managing the savings I did have.

We recently grew close about three months ago an' haven't been apart ever since. He was now someone I spoke to everyday, sometimes he'd even sleep over in the guess room since I lived all alone an' was becoming close to my delivery time.

Him an' I grew a friendship, one whereas I could talk to him about anything. Past life or future.

He was the only one to know my story besides Avery, an' I was happy I told him. He helped me a lot - He even helped me heal a bit by teaching me that it's better to forgive but that doesn't mean I'd have to forget what happened.

"Do we have to go?" I whined as he tried waking me up. "My feet are completely swollen an' I don't think I can take being pregnant much longer."

I listened as he lightly chuckled.

"You lucky I like yo' ass."

"Thank you." I sent a small smile his way.

Today him an' I were scheduled to attend our weekly classes on parenting but today I knew if I'd went that I would've only complained the entire time.

"Did you make breakfast?" I looked at him with a slight pout against my lips. "We're so hungry."

"Aren't y'all always?" He lightly chuckled while placing his hand against my stomach slightly massaging it. "You look beautiful."
