Chapter Forty Two - A New Beginning.

Zuri's P.O.V

Gasping a bit surprised by Avery's actions as he slowly made his way down onto one knee, all I could seem to do was allow my tears to continuously flow.

"Baby." I remained silent listening as his smooth voice spoke. "I know it's only been two years, an' I'll never force you to rush into anything you not ready for - But I love you. I love you too much to not make you my wife. I'm sorry for the mistake I made my stepping out on you an' from this point on all I see myself doing is loving you - Only you." I watched as he took up the box from the plate slowly opening it, showing off the beautiful ring he'd picked out. "Will you marry me?"

As my tears continued escaping all I could seem to do was shake my head in excitement.

At this point I was lost for words.

"That's a yes?" He questioned for assurance.

"Yes." I assured him as he slowly slipped the ring on my finger then quickly picked me up.

"I love you." As he placed me on my feet he brought his lips towards mine kissing me deeply. "Forever & Always."

"I love you too." He spoke against my lips.

Standing there reminiscing over how beautiful the diamond ring looked all I could seem to do was smile.

"I can't believe you did this." I spoke still in complete shock. "Was this your plan all along?"

"I wanted to ask you before Mama passed." He admitted. "I knew she would've been proud."

"She is proud." I assured him while kissing his lips. "All Mama Samantha wanted was for you to become the man she raised you to be by settling down an' making sure your family are all taken care of."

Standing in front of him as he held his hands around my waist, I gently placed my head against his chest favoring every moment we spent together.

I loved this man so much.

"Does your family know about this?" I questioned a bit concerned still leaning against him.

"They're the one's that helped me grow enough balls to do it." He admitted with a little chuckle. "I was never a nigga to back down or be afraid of doing a damn thing, but asking you to marry me was different."

"How different?" I questioned.

"By you saying yes, my life would never be the same - You turned me into the man you see before you right now."

"Awe." I cooed while focusing on him. "You still wanna try for your son?"

He then focused on me a bit surprised.

"Another baby? You sure? - I'm down but I don't want you doing anything you not ready for."

"I'm ready." I admitted.

"I love you." He kissed me deeply before I could even respond.

Watching as he broke the kiss quickly locking the doors I was tackled by him wanting to undress me.

To say I was afraid to have another child for Avery would only be a lie.

I loved him so much that I was willing to risk it all, I just wanted him to have everything he's always wanted like he does with me.
